Root [Boost Mobile] [RELEASE] Clockworkmod 5.0.2.7-Beta2 For warp Released today

what is the latest info on any custom roms

ok after reading the whole thread

i have to say this if you do not know how to use adb you should wait on installing cwm or use the one click method snakex wrote

i know a lot of people have driver issues and are quite knowledgeable using terminal/command prompt for adb

this message goes out to the noobs that have no idea what cwm allows you to do
you could end up wiping your phone completely and will need a nandroid back up to recover your phone luckily people here are willing to help

remember cwm for the warp is in beta and it has some bugs
if you do not know what you are doing, simply educate yourself as much as possible before trying it out. quitestorm's cwm recovery is not going anywhere and a custom rom is not out yet you have time to get a better understanding on what a Clockworkmod recovery allows and how to properly install and use it

adb-linux command not found. all my android related folders and files are in one dir. and im in that dir in terminal with su and sudo. usb driver says it works with 10.04 to 10.04 ubuntu so idk if 11.10 is supported? team view anyone?

are you sure you extracted the files and not simply added the zip folder into the directory
also make sure you are using a stable release of sudo

if you are on linux, cd into the folder you downloaded the adb stuffs, then type

./adb-linux instead of adb-linux

OR

you can add the entire directory into your path using PATH = $PATH:/place where you extracted adb stuffs
that will allow you to just type

adb-linux reboot recovery

from anywhere, like once you open terminal, basically meaning you dont haveta cd into the directory that you have it in, so long as u do the path command.

OR

you could install the android sdk, which comes with adb, fastboot, and all the other bells and whistles.

I might make a batch script for installing the cwm for those who can't figure it out and/or are confused and just want a 1 click process if the demand is high enough (about 3 ppl or more)

I really hope you do make that app that does this... I am NOT dumb, at all and I have done all the things that everyone else has said about in here and this still won't come out rite. I got to where it turned the phone off restarted it,,, then it came up n said some file was out of date and the driver was not loaded in rite...it is very confusing for people who do not do this kind of stuff everyday, but do have enough brains to follow instructions well....I guess I should have just waited for you to do your thing, but I was sure that I was smart enough to get this to work. well at least I did not mess my phone up. so please do your thing and make this simple for us wee folk lol Thanks... and Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining, just a bit upset that I find myself baffled by this when I shouldn't be. Also Thanks to everyone for all the great work...your friend Mark...If I can ever help anyone I will...

You are one of the ones with driver issues which is quite common even the most experienced tech savvy people have issues with drivers just keep on trying to install the drivers and post your results

this is about as good as it gets for a base install of cwm, since flashing the recovery partition is only do-able in bootloader mode, and in order to get into bootloader mode, you need adb. and in order to flash the .img file, you need fastboot, and for fastboot to work, you need the bootloader drivers provided by google, an easier way to do this all is installing the android sdk, BUT I doubt that your gonna wanna install the android sdk JUST for the drivers.

Im working on building beta-2 of cwm, tryin to fix the usb drivers and brighten the screen for you old folk here..(not sayin names). Tryin to get mount usb to work, so you could add files to ur sd card in cwm, and avoid having to reboot to android and enabling usb mode, just to copy files such as roms and stuffs (been irritating me, especially while im tryin to test my builds of cm7). Hopefully it will be to your liking guys.

[EDIT]
I dont know about backing up the data partition, it's backing it up, but for some reason as soon as you go into the stock android, it resets everything. which is why im trying to build cm7 as fast as possible to make sure, Im not sure if it's the stock rom doing it, or if it's my cwm.. I can tell it backs up data because when restoring data, you can see your account db being restored. (all the files with the numbers). its curious, and intriguing. If someone wouldnt mind building a new rom, using the base files and removing them little by little to see whats up, would help.

Hroark, quick question for ya. I recently update my CWM via the update zip, went through fine and everything, but I made a new back up and was testing out some things, and when I rebooted into CWM and tried to use my newest back up I got md5sum mismatch error, but my last back up made with the 5.0.2.6 went through fine. Any ideas? Should I try to re flash the update, or maybe use the Odin version?

I wonder if there is an issue with 5.0.2.7

I could use a tester. For windows users having problems try this installer I made. Its a complete one package thing. Just choose the .bat file for the recovery you wish to install. ZTE Warp Recovery Installer V1.zip

u guys are the best, thanks for all the help, and yes I would be greatful to test this out for you woodstock, I have done some programming before when I was younger and in my 20z and I still thought that I could concour the world. LOL but now that the kids have changed my mind about that sorta stuff, I think that I will just sick to playing around with the stuff I know I can get help with. Thanks allot Woodstock, I will let you now hire this goes. Your friend Mark.
