One more question to all ZTE u960s users...
Please check if your phone have the same IMEI for 2 radio modules. I've found out via engineer mode, that SIM1 and SIM2 have the same IMEI codes.

What's up? How to change IMEIs?

Yes, I can confirm ... there is only one IMEI ...

2. If you install Handcent SMS you will be able to recive those SMS messages. Works for me.

3. Names show up for me, but I have all contacts with countryside.

Does Handcent SMS supports dual sim ? I mean can you use Handcent SMS and choose the SIM that you want to use to send the message ?


For the contact do you have names show both for sms and calls ?

No, Handcent does not support sim chioce... I use Handcent for the notify icon in the status bar ... and the default app for send messages with the option for choose the sim ...

No other phone (AFAIK) has the same radio configuration.

Very likely it's a bug that not surface on the TD network, or the SMS w/o a sender number aren't just used in China.

Either way hardly ZTE will fix something that doesn't know is broken.

Could be worth to contact and to inform them about this behavior.

I don't know if my mail about the Vodafone SIMs problem was taken in account, but they fixed it.

dear i have already registered to google account and add google account in zte t u960.but there is no google play store app. in zte t u960 cell.please understand when no google play store in zte t u960 then where i install applications from google play store.later i intall "google play store software" from http://www.4shared.com/
but every time i open this play store app.i got a message"add google account"but i had already add the google account in zte t u960.i reset set many time but not solve my problem.some bady said that zte t u960 mobile have rom problem.please solve my problem i want google play store application.also my zte u960 not root.

Where did you buy your phone (taobao, etotalk or somethere else)? If your phone is not rooted, you can do it by yourself.

I already informed on Malshenzu about name SMS, and ZTE developers took that into attention as they told me, lets cross the fingers that they fix that also

Where did you buy your phone (taobao, etotalk or somethere else)? If your phone is not rooted, you can do it by yourself.

I bought my phone in etotalk. It was already rooted and with android market.
You need to find manuals on this forum how to root phone, install recovery console and android market.
You should be prepared, when ordered phone in country with specific policy for google services

Thanks for the information. I had rooted the phone and super user installed. I installed etotalktool and move the recovery_cn.img to the sdcard. But when i run the 'flash recovery from sdcard' from the etotalktool, and select recovery_cn.img and click 'ok' to flash recovery, it just restart and show the bootscreen for a second and then black screen (power off). when i press vol-dn & power on it does not go to recovery screen. did i miss anything?

Try vol up + Power it must go into recovery mode...

After updating when i go back to recovery, I could not see the menu only the highlight. is there any way to change back? Also why does the APN not automatically update?

That recovery is working but is chinese, the english one is included in the rom package, published here in the post #8

any body have adobe flash player.zip for(dual sim Star A1200 Android 2.3, 3G WCDMA,4.3 inch Capacitive screen, MTK6573, dual cameras, G-sensor)which i will install through bootloader.i try hundred of flash player but during installion i got message this adobe flash player is incompatible.any suggestion.

Just place in /etc a suited apns-conf.xml file, just as in any other android phone.
