I really like the Incredible, but since they don't have those in stock the Droid X it is. they are holding for me on 7/15. Motorola seems more reliable to me anyways.
I believe you are getting mixed up between Micro and Mini. That is wrong.
These phones are Micro USB ports not Mini USB. Majority of the phones now use Micro USB as they are known to be more reliable as well. Mini USB ports use to be on older phones a few years back such as the Blackberry Curve 8330.
I have never used a screen protector for my droid and all it has are some hair-line scrathes that you can only see in the right light at the right angle. And I have dropped mine many times. Onto concrete at least twice. Any phone with gorilla glass doesn't need a screen protector, IMO.
