I am having a similar issue where I tried to install velocity v.0.3 through the clockworkmod recovery v 2.5.0.5 program. Re-booted phone and it freezes during start up. if I press menu, hang up and, power button at the same time I can get back into the clockwork recovery program but dont know what to do from here. I didnt do a backup before hand. Can I remove sd card and put another zip file on it to install? Help a newb out

If you didn't do a backup (which i'm not sure why you wouldn't), then you might be forced to do one of the procedures to go back to a completely stock ROM. Frisco posted a link above with the steps to follow. Just make sure next time you do a backup. It's such a simple thing to do and can eliminate so many potential problems.

Just wasn't thinking and rushed.

All I can do with the phone is get to this menu:

and when phone reboots it freezes here:

I have a similar problem. I think I might be seriously screwed. I renamed Launcher2.apk on my Ally and tried to reboot to see if it was something I could safely remove, and now my phone is stuck in a boot loop. If I try to go into recovery mode, the little android pops up with a ! in a triangle, and the phone reboots, but still stuck in a boot loop.

So, to sum up my problem, my phone won't reboot, and I can't boot into recovery mode. Am I totally screwed here, or is there some way I can start my phone up again?

I made a nandroid backup, but, I can't get into recovery mode to restore it. I made a backup of my sd card on my pc but I'm not sure if that's going to help anything.

Any help at all would be welcome since I'm pretty desperate here. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried pulling the battery for a few moments and then putting it back and booting? Sometimes that helps when stuck in a boot loop. It might help you. If not, you can get the quickest help by going on the IRC Ally channel in real time. Most of the folks hanging out there can be very helpful. Here's a link to get there.

Just a note: Do not remove Launcher2.apk or rename it at all. It is the default Android Home launcher and without it you would not be able to boot into android. Unless you had a third party launcher installed. (Don't quote me on the last sentence.)

Launcher2.apk can be removed if and ONLY if you have a third party launcher (Launcher Pro, ADW) installed. I have done it several times.

Edit: Just make sure your third party launcher is set as the default, or you will get never-ending FC's.
