Help No flashlight after 5.1

Does anyone know why I no longer have the integrated flashlight since my N5 was updated to 5.1?

I'm more concerned with why the one integrated into the notification/quick settings pull-down is gone now that I updated to 5.1. Kinda wondering if that's normal or if something is jacked up

Well it is up to the carrier to decide what they want to put on the new OS,or maybe they just forgot to put it in the new OS.

Can you change what shows up in the pull down?

You may have to do a factory reset.

There is an incremental update for the N5 that I have not yet received or manually applied:

5.1.0 (LMY47I)​

I'm still on 5.1.0 (LMY47D)

Wonder if that removes it? (OP, what is your current Build number (Settings -> About phone (very last report item?)

Hmm, lemme ping my son real quick and see if he's lost the flashlight--he usually gets the OTAs much before I do--but I can tell you he'd be pretty honked if that feature went away since I know he uses it.

Ah, pretty sure he's gaming with some friends this evening , so he's either busy or ignoring me --I'll post back here when I hear from him.

...I checked my wife's and daughter's N5's and they're both still on the same version of Android as I do (and still have the flashlight).

Ah, I think the image you posted tells the tale:

"Disabled by administrator, encryption policy, or credential storage"​

Is your device encrypted?

That's just it... It's not encrypted (that I know of??), the device mgr is the Android & I don't know what the credential thing means.

Do you run any corporate apps that might have imposed some kind of policy restriction(s)?

I'm not sure--shooting in the dark here...

No, not at all. I added the pin lock a couple days ago, and wanted to change it back to no security today, and it's given me that screen ever since. Have no idea how to change it.

I used to run a PIN and switched a while to a pattern (was faster to "enter").

I just tried re-doing a PIN and was able to turn it off off and back to a pattern without issue.

I had forgotten that it also gives you a little pop-up when you turn it off ("None") that you'll get a pop-up saying:

Remove unlock pattern

Device protection features will no longer work.

CANCEL OKAY​

Maybe turning your's off monkeyed something up? :dunno:

I cleared the 'credentials' (whatever that does) and that solved the pin lock problem! Now if I can just get my flashlight back...
