OTA update beginning 7/16

When I do that, I get the checkin result symbol in the top left corner. I drag it open and it says "CHeckin result success" I click on it and it goes away. I then check system updates again and it says I am up to date...but still firmware 1.5

Odd. I'd take it to a Verizon store and make them force the update.

tried that already and was told they can't do that & that I have to call HTC....been dealing with HTC for a couple of weeks now....but still no updates...

I would also suggest trying the store again. This time, make sure they understand that you were sold this phone with the promise of Android 2.1.

Yeah I told them that when I went in last time and I was told they can't force updates & that only HTC can force them. My phone is working flawlessly so I am not in a huge rush, but I would like to get it, especially for Gogle Navigator. I spoke to HTC again so we will see what happens...

I was too impatient for the OTA so I followed these instructions to install the update manually and it worked perfectly. I recommend a factory reset after 2.1 update though becaues it fixes many problems. Just installed the latest update manually and I'm running smoothly.

Yeah I told them that when I went in last time and I was told they can't force updates & that only HTC can force them.

Is this a corporate Verizon store or a Verizon retailer?

Got my update yesterday. I'm also one of the users that has had no problems and hoping that this update doesn't mess that up. After seeing what the Droid X does - our son just got that last week, my droid seems slow didn't think so before I used his phone. Oh well - will have to wait for my 2 years to run out or something major happens. Still love the phone and finding things out about it that I didn't know it could do.

I got my update 2 days ago. I kept ignoring the alert because I wanted to find more out before I updated...last time it really just messed everything up and I was not a happy camper, and it took a while for things to settle back down to where I was happy again with my phone.

Now, I can't find the update anywhere! I tried the "checkin" and it was successful but I still don't have the update. Is there anywhere else I can look around for it? Am I just out of luck now?

I find myself wanting an Iphone more and more now...

But, I can't help but wonder...where did my update go? And, why can't I find it? I would prefer to do it that way as opposed to manually if I could.

Anyone have this happen or know they answer?

Duh, I turned my phone off. Got my update. Sheesh. I must have a case of the rainy-day-Mondays.
