verizon cfo comments on tiered data plans...

you know its coming. when no ones knows but verison. you think with teithering coing out and a lot of people has rooted to get tiethering. you think they will sit by and let us use the phone as a wireless router for our laptops, ipads and so on. I look for them to empliment it when froyo goes OTA. then they see peoples data usage go through the roof. just takes a feew idiots to ruin it for the rest.

tethering has been around a long time you do not have to be rooted or have froyo to tether. so i dont know how much froyo would have to do with tiered pricing.

The reason for tiered plans is that with 4g you WILL go through a LOT of data, especially if you stream data......when they implement this i will go back to a dumb phone

correct me if im wrong but, its my understanding that just because they have 4g available, doesnt mean you will automatically be put on it. the droid wont even run on 4g. since 4g plans will be tiered i will just stick with 3g.

Verizon grandfathered me for 9 years on my old plan before I finally switched it to the unlimited. Even when they said I couldn't keep that plan and get a Droid but when I said I wouldn't upgrade to a Droid without my plan staying the same they gave in. So I have no reason to believe that I won't be able to keep my unlimited plan for as long as I like.
