I'm a bit new at this.. but
how do i uninstall SPrecovery from my droid?

Are we sure this doesn't work with SPRecovery? I have the stock, unrooted 2.1 ROM installed.

After putting the update.zip on my SD card and trying to apply sdcard: update.zip I get the following error:

E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command

--Install from sdcard...
Finding update package...
Opening update package...
Verifying update package...
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted

any Ideas?

I had the experimental 2.2 installed, and was rooted. had sprecovery on. I restored back to 2.1 and flashed to this official 2.2 with sprecovery, no issues

If you're having issues after your first boot, do a battery pull.

if you get E:signtature verification failed its a bad download. Just download again. The servers are probably getting hammered right now

-If you are running anything other than stock 2.1, you will receive an error.
-If you attempt to apply this update with a custom ROM installed, the update will NOT apply.

Does that mean that if I'm on 2.1-update 1 and I'm rooted I cannot use this?

Thats the md5sum I get but I havent tried to install it because I am rooted. If someone can verify this MD5 I would appreciate it

As long as you do not have a custom ROM, go right ahead. 2.1-update1 is the code name for stock 2.1.
