I suffer from sever asthma attacks. I only have one car and it was being used on the 15th about 930am. An attack came on that my controller meds and emergency meds couldn't get under control. My ears started ringing and I knew I was in alot of trouble. I know one close enough 5 minutes or less to get me to the hosp. I would not make it. Hers the other problem I passed the time you can still speak. So grabbing my cell I went to the locked screen hit emergency call called 911. I was able to get what was wrong out of me and some of the address before I woke a day half later in the hospital out of a induced coma. My phone had gps on it and I had the emergency tone on . In my dead hands yes they had to pry my cell phone and case literally out of my hands found the case in two pieces on the floor. 911 was able to get my address and my phone brought the paramedics to where I had collapsed and in that short window before death got me to the hosp in time. If I didn't have it they would have never have found me in time. Thank you cell phone. BTW phone was on sleep standby for four days. fearing I torched the battery letting it go totally dead low behold I turn it on and it was at 51 percent.

just thought Id share a real story about how tech saved me

no the phone is fine its the case that fell part when they pryed it out of my hands. sad Face was just well something good didn't happen other than I made it. you know its creepy when you in the hosp and they come to move you and you move yourself. and they OMG he moved himself. And nurse says well sometimes they make a miraculous recovery. Whats strange I heard everything even while under. I couldn't respond but I heard it.

I bought an app called ICE (ICE: In Case of Emergency - Android app on AppBrain)

I added to my screen lock. In it you list medications, emergency contacts, doctors, insurance, prescription numbers and so on and so forth. You can make all calls directly from the phone.

I have generalized epilepsy and it is mainly to put my friends at ease. Few have them have witnessed my seizures but they are all scared that one day they will have to. Now, they can pick up my phone and have all the necessary info in the event I don't come to after a minute or so.
