[Official] What Changes Have You Noticed After Updating to 2.2 (Froyo)?

One thing I noticed right away is my 3G signal is stronger. At me house, the best I ever had was 1 bar of 3G. Now I have 4 and it's lightning fast. I've had my X for about 10 days and the signal at my house was always poor before.

Don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but it's kicking @$$ now!!

Yeah, I think the baseband (radio firmware) was updated in the OTA.

Looks like you benefited a lot from it! For people with good reception to begin with, there's hardly a difference, but it can be quite noticeable if you're in a fringe area.

I'm now able to clear my contacts history:D. Not sure if you could do this with the leaked 2.2. If you go into contacts and swipe the screen to the right it'll show all your activity history with your contacts. Press the menu key and there is now an option to clear history. Sorry if this is old as I couldn't do this in 2.1 and didntinstall the leaked 2.2.

Poking my head around because I am thinking about leaving my N1 for a Droid X. I didn't see this mentioned but I could of missed it in all the threads. If you want to eliminate the lock screen try an app called "No Lock" No Lock | AndroidApplications.com. Works great on my N1 for waking the phone up without a lock screen. On my N1 I can wake the phone up with any button also using this app.

NoLock no longer works on a 2.2 Droid X. Also, SwitchPro also has a no-lock feature that is now broken on a 2.2 X as well. (also SwitchPro's camera flash flashlight is also broken).

I'm really upset with this. However the main reason I want to disable the lock is bluetooth dialing does not work with a PIN lock screen. Disabling the lock was the work around. I was hoping that this itself would be fixed in 2.2. I was not. So they didn't fix that issue, and broke the workaround. Joy.

Since I can't disable the PIN on my phone w/o removing my work email account I'm screwed. I basically can't use my phone in the car anymore.

Few things i've noticed:

1) Lots more ram free for me. about 110mb more in fact.
2) moto blur weather widget now can use gps to lock your location so you don't have to put in a static city! I think it's the best weather widget and i have bought 2 different kinds and tried all the free ones. It seems to be the most accurate for me and i like how it gives me the 4 day forecast and 1 touch gives me the hourly spread during the day. I think it just beats out the google weather widget.
3) quadrant score increased by close to 100 pts
4) pin code lock screen has a new graphic
5) when you hold the home screen it's the last 8 apps, instead of the last 6
6) also, in 2.1 when i would go from the browser to a different app and hold down the home screen it would never show the browser as one of my last used apps. now it does and has been fixed
7) new battery manager including nighttime saver mode
8) battery status now show's EVERY app i've used. Before it only showed cell standby, display, wifi, and 1 other no matter how many apps i had used.
9) now in the Gmail app you can press a next and previous arrow so you don't have to press the hard back button to get to the list of emails. this is how the messaging app works. love it!
10) in settings > sound and display the menu choices have been cleaned up a lot
11) the moto blur news and facebook widgets now scale much better. in 2.1 the pictures would look jacked up and now they look normal.
12) camera app is MUCH faster! it is BLAZING compared to 2.1! it opens in 2-3 seconds instead of 5-6 and the time between shots has been drastically reduced. the time between shots feels more like the iphone 4 now.

will update if i discover more. lovin' 2.2!!!
