swype needs upgrading

tried to type today but said swype trial is over?

what to do?

dont know if you have found a fix but mine just did this. i just went to the swype site. Swype | Text Input for Screens and signed up for the beta. make sure you uninstall your old version and reboot the phone. then follow the instructions they give you. all is well now i have swype back up and running.

ya did that. just told me just now the trial has ended!?

I did the beta sign up where they send it to your email and all that. this sucks. why cant you keep it longer than a month or whatever!?

apparently the current beta ended this friday. they are working on getting a new one out that will last 100 days before it expires. BS!

Permanently? Not until it's out of beta.

Though I got the notification that my trial had expired today and I went to the beta site to find that a new beta version was released on the 10th so I just logged in and downloaded that and I'm back up and running with Swype again. You could try this?

I signed up for the very first time a few days ago and it works great w/o any error/warning messages.

I must say..this thing ain't too shabby.

ok thanks. swype is great for long words but TERRIBLE for short ones like 'or' and such. I think OR is the worst. always puts in our or out or something.

Sometimes I type those out manually.
I haven't played with the sliders for "Word choice window" and "Speed vs. Accuracy" I would assume adjusting those would help.

With the short words like 'or' I will either type them out like clockwork said or I will use a less direct swype pattern to get it to pick the word I want first.

For 'or' I will actually go 'o' then quickly off the keyboard like you would to quickly capitalize right to the 'r'.
