Anyone try the Sprint Screen Protectors?

After doing the most research my job would allow, I went to BB & got some Zagg protectors. I was looking for Phantom Skinz but Zagg was all they had & I had a $15 gift card. I wasn't planning on buying any but I read that the Hero (my last phone) had Gorrila Glass. I hope that isn't the case because the screen has a very noticable 1" scratch on it. (Pic when I get home) So if the 3vo has GG then their creditiblity is shot with me & if it doesn't then I needed the protectors anyway. For the people with Zagg, does it affect the 3D in any way?

GG isn't invincible. Even Superman isn't invincible. GG is just far more scratch resistant than any other glass used for cell phone displays. It's still a good idea to get a screen protector. But they are unnecessary if you take proper precautions with your screen. Sand and other grit you may find in your pockets damage screens easily, including GG. Sand is very abrasive. Hence why it's used in sand paper and sand blasters.

Thanks Jerofld & trust me I understand that but this scratch is redonkuless. I forgot to mention it's probably a centimeter deep. I only keep my phone in my pocket. I even turn my pockets inside out before placing it in there. I didn't think it was a big deal being that it was naked but now that I see that the glass "may have been" GG I'm very disappointed. I wonder if a 3D pic can catch how deep this scratch is lol.

I just ordered a Phantom Skinz. I have never used them before, but I have used the Zagg ones, and I was pretty happy with them. Phantom Skinz comes with the protector for the camera glass (maybe Zagg does too), and that is the area I'm most concerned with. My Epic, is supposed to be Gorilla glass and although I do feel it's a great product, I was able to scratch it in a few places using no screen cover.

Zagg does not come with a camera protector.

I doubt the 3D effect would be so good with a deep scratch. Sounds like a coin got a hold of your last screen, though.

How does it look today? I just had BB install one and it's so grainy I can hardly read small text on the screen. I like the no smudges deal, but not sure me eyes can handle this grainy appearance. Any light colors have a rainbow effect that is very distracting.

Give it a couple of days. It is left over moisture from the install, pretty normal. If it doesn't go away in a week I would raise hell at that point.

Mine is grainy too, that bb rep convinced me to get this one, really I dont care about glare, what I care about is smudges and fingerprints. I had the anti glare screen protector from sprint on my evo 4g, and it felt better, maybe through time this one will as well, but I remember it took a while for that screen protector to fully dry, I remember for a while my evo 4g screen was really grainy, looks worse on the e3D, so noticable, worse case scenario, i go back to bb and get another one, really kills spiderman 3d when playing

One of the threads in this forum has a response from HTC to one of the posters about this device not having gorilla glass.

That would probably be one of mine. I wasn't able to get an affirmative response from HTC at ALL so I called and emailed Corning (who makes gorilla glass) and was told via email they don't give that info out. However, I was called a few days later by a Corning rep who said he didn't see it listed in his system at all.

There was one with a quote that stated that "this device is not one that uses gorilla glass" I did see yours as well but there was another one that actually had a definitive response. I'm sure it was here, if not it was on android central but I'm almost positive it was here.

Does anyone have previous experience with the Chromatics line from Phantom Skinz? I feel I will probably go this route, just so i can personalize my 3VO, plus it comes with 2 screen protectors also.
I almost bought that yesterday, but since I won't have my phone until Thursday, I decided to wait before I bought too much for it. I did buy the screen savers though. I wouldn't buy it to protect the phone, only to cover up damage, or if it actually enhanced the appearance. I'm not a big fan of phone cases. I have only really destroyed two phones one was submerged, the other I may have thrown at a co-worker (during my younger hot head days). I'm giving my Epic to my brother. I have had it for 10 months, no screen cover, no case, and it looks almost perfect. Only 2 small scratches on the screen. I'm buying the screen cover mainly for the camera, but if the phone doesn't have gorilla glass, I'm going to use it on the main screen too. I looked at Corning's Website, and the EVO 3D is not listed as using Gorilla Glass, the EVO 4g is. Not sure how often it is updated.

mine sucks, returning it, got it from BB, they should warn you if you buy the zagg anti glare invisible shield, it will make your screen grainy, and there are lines, very prevalent when playing spiderman 3d

I returned mine yesterday. And, of course, they would not refund the $7.99 install fee. Should have done it myself. I also returned the Platinum Series Cruisercase and went back to the Otterbox Defender w/built in screen protector. I'm happy!

Thanks to everyone for warnings about the "smudge-proof" matte/anti-glare Zagg. I went with the normal (not smudge-proof, not anti-glare) Zagg, and I'm quite pleased with it.

No grain -- heck, it's almost undetectable -- it doesn't mess with the 3D effect, and it's actually pretty darn smudge-proof anyway. I did pay for BB to install, but they did a great job, and if any bubbles appeared, it would be their fault, not mine, so I could let them fix it.

Thanks for all the advice on this everyone. So does anyone else just not use a screen protector? Sorry to always compare things to my ipod but its the only other capacitive touchscreen device I've had. I tried using a protector at first but they seemed to lower my touching accuracy. Eventually I just said forget the protector, ill be careful with it and if i do ever get to the point where the device is in very bad shape it'll be time for a new one. After a year with no protector, the screen is in literally perfect shape.

That was the approach I was going to take with this phone. I even have the Sprint leather case and am always careful, never put my devices in pockets with keys, coins, or anything really.

Should I still look into a screen guard anyone? I really prefer the bare screens but i also want to be safe of course.
