I got 3g on my lg optimus m.... Yea

Come on. Cool your panties of bro's. Not trying to be mean or anything here, and dont get me wrong. If YOU were a phone company, with some phones capable of 3g and US as costumers, im pretty sure you would get 3g too. Some on please, speed test? Im in Atlanta Georgia. Ga's capital, and i got no 3g. As soon as i get it, i'll make sure to get some speed tests, and screenshots to prove it for ga. I wish i can get the 3g, my phone would be nicer :D lol and also i use my wirelesss tether, 3g sounds goooood lol

Metro employees dont know jack sh*t. I went into a corporate store the other day. Had one employee tell me "Oh we have 3g. Let me show you some phones" (I never told her what phone I have) She then showed me the Ascend and the Optimus then turned to another employee and ask what other 3g phones they had. The other employee says "What? We dont have 3g. We have 1x and 4g LTE. We skipped 3g completely" I then asked the employee well why am I seeing Metro phones with 3g? He repeated "We dont have 3g. We have 1x and 4g LTE. We skipped 3g completely" I then asked him well why is Metro getting that new Samsung phone that is 3g. The guy then turned into an A-Hole and said " SIR! We dont have 3g. We have 1x and 4g LTE. We skipped 3g completely and we're not getting any new Samsung 3g phone." and then I was alright whatever dude. So I can tell you right now MetroPcs employees dont know jacksh*t. And this is a corporate store not a franchised store.

I'll ask you though--what samsung 3g phone are you talking about? sounds like you were just trying to screw with him for no good reason.

EDIT: Officially, metro doesn't have 3g. and considering that so few do, and out of those, some of us (like me) only see it for seconds at a time occasionally, it's almost dishonest to market it.
the samsung admire, however just like the optimus, its evdo capable, doesnt mean it will always get it.

oh ok. hadn't heard about it/not on the metro site yet. my old Kyocera Neo E1100 is 3G capable--it's got "QUALCOMM 3G CDMA" engraved into the back of the battery cover. But it's a metro phone, so of course, only 1x. Man, I remember when I paid $130 for that thing. Couldn't get more than $10 now if I tried most likely. The front of it looks pretty cool though when it's not all scratched up: Videos - Free video downloads and streaming video - CNET TV

I Think Your Confused!!!! There's 1x-EVDO Which Is 3G And There's 1xRTT Which Is 2G. Metro Uses 1xRTT!!!! So If The Phone Is 3G Only Metro Would Have To Upgrade Their Towers.
check the facts, I dont want a internet argument but when they say what they did in his post, they dont mean you will automatically get evdo speed.

the 1x is cdma, and so is evdo, that does not mean you will get the faster speed, it means the phone will only have a cdma radio.
NOT a 4G=LTE

Metro advised they would be upgrading equpment to 3g capable.

God knows if its going to be all areas. I certainly hope so.

Though I live in SW FL (Naples specifically) No 3g has been spotted near fort myers or naples yet. Rumor has it theres some spotted 4g in cape coral and north fort myers. (*228 will only get you to 3019 PRL, i manually updated to 3020).

LTE should be live by the end of summer, mid oct-nov the latest.

1x and EVDO is 2 different verisons of data based on the same technology which is CDMA. Metro phones are all 3g capable (including the indulge and craft), however as long as towers are not updated to 3g, you wont get unless you are in coverage areas (and yes, metro WILL update to 3g most of its network).

This was advised on a dealer meeting back in june or july on miami, fl.
You have to realize, most employees from MetroPCS just sell phones, they dont care about technology..... us on the other side are on the geeky side.

besides, dealer owners or corporate do not pass this information down to the first row of the sales line since they will blow sales away cuz people will want to wait "until we get 3g or 4g".

The samsung admire is the next phone down the road, then the HTC wildfire. none of those will be 4g capable, but 3g capable (or 1x depending of your area).

And further ahead............................................................................... a very VERY good 4g phone.

Follow this thread to keep updating the maps with 3g!

I looked up the HTC Wildfire; it shows as being released in Europe and is a GSM phone. Is there going to be a CDMA version coming out? Or am I just missing something as I'm reading the information?

Is the very VERY good 4G phone the LG Bryce that I've seen people talk about?

This is the one for the wildfire
HTC Wildfire S swaggers CDMA bands at FCC -- Engadget

it did get approval by the FCC to be used on CDMA networks, which is awesome!

Metro has plans of releasing it, but you never know if things will get pushed back, and yes, it has happened before on the past (like the Sanyo Zio, first android phone for metro pcs that died before it even was released).

the LG, yes. Bryce is code name, will be called Esteem.
If you wanna see it, go to a verizon store and find the LG revolution. If you hear it sucks is because all the preloaded shit from verizon which metro will not have. Oh and less internal storage, coming from 16 internal gb to 4gb.
