According to AT&T's spec sheet, the Atrix is "HSPA+ 14.4 Mbps with enhanced backhaul". There's no mention of LTE.

Nope. It's HSPA+.
AT&T doesn't even have LTE yet, and won't until the end of the year.
The only LTE phone coming out right now is the ThunderBolt on Verizon which does have an LTE network they just launched.
Do you have a link? I only see an HSPA+ usb stick. (AT&T USBConnect Shockwave 4G*
)

I got the same response as bfife94. Not only with one but several others. I also went to several ATT stores and they gave me either the same or similar response. I think the Atrix will be able to get 4g LTE when available in area. IDK.
Yeah, they are either giving you B.S. or don't know what they are talking about. I work for AT&T in a retail store, and I know, along with most of my co-workers that these devices ARE NOT LTE COMPATIBLE.
Remember speed vary by location and density.
even prayer is going to change that simple fact.John
According to the Atrix reviews (Engadget, AnandTech, etc.), the Atrix' network speeds are barely even 3G! lol[/QU
I also work for ATT, and a little secret is that the ATRIX is actually set at a slower speed by default. If you go into settings, wireless and networks, mobile networks, access points, and choose at&t us. Not the one that says hsdpa. Your speeds will increase by roughly four times.
Don't worry about LTE it will be a while before it is in most cities. By the time it becomes common place you will be up for an upgrade.
Thanks. Just tried it out and tested it. Download speeds seem more or less the same (between 4 MBPS- 5.5 MBPS, lol twice the speed of my DSL) but upload has gotten much faster for sure (from about 700KBPS to 1-1.2 MBPS).
It will vary by city, but every ATRIX user should download speed test, and if they aren't getting at least 4-5 mbs, they need to do what I suggested above.

RED FLAGS went up when I read this tip.
Changing your WAP settings can lead to false data billing. In fact, this is how AT&T is busting some of the Tethering tricks (For tethering without paying for it). One of the tricks involves setting up a new WAP, others involve apps that set up access through a different WAP.
I'm not saying that the above is false information. I'm just putting out a warning that changing the WAP your phone accesses to one that may not be provisioned for your data plan can lead to data overages, or being accused of tethering by AT&T.
I'll wait a couple of months and see who tries this trick and does not get hit with a bill.
I'm using the HSDPA WAP that my phone was set for from AT&T. There are only two towers near me with "4G" enabled. From those, I get about 4.6Mbps down, .33Mbps up.
