Okay who thinks we will see a blurry picture this week or the first glimpse we will get of the prime will be on the 11th? Can they keep this a secret until the unveiling?????

Not sure on this one. There will certainly be some pressure for a leak. I want to see something, but the excitement is sort of being built on no images or anything.

Apple and android/manufacturers all borrow from each other. It takes two to tango you know.

You call it borrow, but in the corporate world its called the theft of intellectual property...it happens but if you can't develop your own product in the end you will fail. Apple is slowly loosing market share and as a result they feel the need to borrow as you call it technologies in software and hardware development from others to stay relevent.

I have been trying to stay away from watching and counting down the days. I drove myself nuts with the first Incredible or Nexus One coming to Verizon talking and reading for a couple months about the launch and arrival.

Now that we are about a week away from an announcement I am stoked!!!

Can't wait to see my next phone! I will pre order ASAP!

Could this be the leak we are waiting for...or is P3 referring to something else like HTC, Moto or iPhone release date?

“P3Droid: October 6th, will be a good day. A very good day.”

Any thoughts on this? I did not see it mentioned above.

I assumed he was hinting at HTC Vigor...just because of the timing. I doubt p3**droid** would be excited about the new/old fruit. At least I hope he wouldn't be. lol

I was thinking the same thing but I guess we will find out this thursday. I hope he wasn't talking about the stratosphere. Then again I don't think someone like him would really think that highly of a midrange slider.

This would support vzw_wired saying to the mass grumbling on this thread that we "would be very happy". That ice cream is sure tasting vanilla ATM.

Hey everyone. I've been stalking this thread for a while, looking to replace my Incredible.

I just have to say, I would be surprised if Google would allow the very first ICS phone to appear with a custom UI. It wouldn't make a lick of Sense! (sorry, I've always wanted to do that!) That said, it IS Verizon. I think even Verizon has moments of clarity and how could they NOT hear all the rants? I think this phone is meant to give Verizon some "street cred" for us Android geeks. Ofcourse, the next year will be filled with usual bloatware but this phone will give them the ablitity to go "look, we get it!" At least for a little while.

So I asked her to clarify things, and she says that someone was excited because the Prime wouldn't have Touchwiz. My sister said "Why not, that sucks" (she's an iPhone freak and loves how Touchwiz is more iPhone-like than other UIs), and the person told her it wouldn't have any UI, just basic stock. My sister thinks that's boring, while we, of course, think it's awesome.

She doesn't know anything else. She's the type of person that even if someone told her what processor it was running, she wouldn't remember what they said. She's not into tech stuff.

Edit:
I forgot to include that as far as the DROID brand, she says that she's hearing it will not be a Droid phone (which she also thinks "sucks"), but that it could get slapped on at the last moment. But she doubts it.
