Verizon Turbo Boost and it's implecations...

I have the solution: figure out how to make an application to use the api, then dont pay verizon to use it, use the 3rd party app. If this really happens i bet rom devs can work something into roms just like how on some roms the verizon hotspot app is hacked to let you use it free instead of having to use barnicle wifi tether or wireless tether

I was considering switching from sprint to Verizon since they have superior data speeds in my area, but it seems like they won't be happy until your cell phone bill is on par with your car payment..

They aren't forcing you to pay this. If you want super duper fast speeds then yes you will pay. Most will be happy with the already super fast lte speeds.

The danger I see here is that this will incentivize Verizon to not provide enough bandwidth so that it will increase these transactions. I can't see this going down without peoples objections, but I can definitely see Verizon trying it.

I'm sure people will be looking into these things if that is indeed the case. Anytime anything new comes to a carrier the media and sites like these usually look into it and see if anything is happening that shouldn't be.

Will people be able to tell if its not legit tho? If they would reduce normal bandwidth slowly, claim its because of people moving to 4G, then implement this Boost feature as the pay as you go "solution"

what we need are the DEVs that get the API to refuse to program around it. Telling VZW to essentially f'off.

But, sadly, maybe the they have a program behind the scenes for the DEv's to give kickbacks based on how many times the stupid button gets clicked. Then, next thing you know, the DEVs will place it in such a way you can't but not accidentally hit it or see it. Kind of like stations with those f****** bugs and ads on the corners of our TVs.
