Well I'm back from dinner and cocktails and I'm getting the urge to root my Nexus. I'm enjoying playing with it, but if all the work I'm putting into customizing and loading it will be worth nothing if I root it later, it would make more sense to do it now.

I mean if Han can do it how hard can it be?

You are correct. You are going to end up redoing it all. But my thoughts are that most of us flashed roms and it'll be much the same way as doing a reset

If you are going to unlock and root, I'd suggest you do it sooner rather than later.

When you unlock, EVERYTHING is wiped out, pictures, movies, etc.

Hey everyone! I had a fantastic Nexmas. Woke up early and got my Nexus, spent the day on here with you all and achieving brief fame via my photo on Phandroid and other blogs, then went out with the girlfriend for a fancy dinner and seeing the Radio City Christmas Spectacular! Those Rockettes really know how to move.

I'm bushed, haha. Good night all!

EDIT: Oh, also, finally got an email from Verizon about the Nexus at around 6 PM. Looked at it on my Nexus, laughed so hard I got a few tears in my eyes, then deleted it.

VZW must like me, got my email at 1am eat! Got the google nexus email around 6 tonight though.

A few thoughts.

I'm disappointed that Swiftkey X is a bit buggy. It won't let you change the theme.

I wish the whites were a bit whiter. I know it's not the display because some elements are very white.

I think that's it!

This phone rocks! I'm rocking the extended battery and its only marginally heftier and I can barely tell the difference in thickness.

I can't believe we finally have our Precious!!

I changed the theme in SwiftKey X? I'm using the light one, forget what it's called. I can't stand the black/gray one it goes to automatically. I'm loving the combo of ICS and SwiftKey X, great predictions so far (although my charge was better since I'd been using it longer) and love the underline/spell check function too.

I'm very happy overall, even my fruit loving BF is listing after it... Despite the biased techcrunch review.

I'm having an adjustment phase that's for sure, but overall I'm very happy and I'm so glad to finally have a phone I want to keep!

So, I understand you don't have a simple 4G on/off widget, is that true?

OK, apologies if that's wrong and this is unnecessary, but the Motorola Photon 4G gang had the same issue with needing a 3G widget.

Probably, one of you could review this thread, grok it, adapt it to 4G and the settings path for your phone, and maybe post the solution as a tip on the Nexus forum.

COMPLETELY agree about swiftkey being buggy. my favorite, most useful android purchase just isnt as nice as id like it to be yet i dont like that everytime i use something that requires the keyboard, a keyboard logo shows up in the notification bar either.

I love this phone but have one issue, can't seem to find the visual voicemail they showed off at the hong kong show. I was hoping google voice would be integrated but it seems I still need a separate app. Did I miss this somewhere that they dropped it or is it a feature I have to enable?

Or are they going to make me buy VZW visual voicemail to see them in my call log

I read earlier that the integrated visual voicemail is actually imbedded hooks into the operating system that developers can rake advantage of and not an actual feature that users can use out of the box.

I just canceled order from LetsTalk and placed an order from Verizon. I talked to a CSR and mentioned 3g to 4g discount. He didn't apply the discount at the moment I made the purchase, but left a documentation on my account so that I can contact customer service to get the discount. Does this sound legit to you guys, or should I cancel the order and go with other CSR?
