Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hey everyone! I just wanted to check in because I do plan on sticking around I have just had a very busy couple of days and the weekend isn't going to be any better. Still loving the Gnex!:D I have managed to get my texts and ringtones moved and google music setup.

Only problem I am having is with the headphone jack, it doesn't have a good connection, I have tried the headphones that came with and another pair :( It keeps dropping the connection and causing google music to pause. I was hoping it was the headphones but it looks to be the phone. I don't want to have to take it back because everything else is perfect. Anyone else having this problem??

I moved up from a DX to the Nexus yesterday, and LOVE it!

To answer your question, the phone reception, both incoming and outgoing, is better on the Nexus. People have commented, that don't even know I got a new phone, on how "good" I sound. I called my office this morning, and one of my secretaries said I sounded "so young!" So, there you have it - the Nexus is the Fountain of Youth! :D

Seriously though, my phone is a huge part of my job, and the sound quality HAS to be good, or it would be a deal breaker. I'm loving what I have!

I do hope you get your Sexy Nexy soon and join the party!

LOL...have to laugh at your screen name...I hated my Treo too!

Thanks! That sounds great. And how's the "coverage" compared to the DX? Are you finding the signal strength is the same as you had with the DX as you travel around? Moto always made good radios, even if they didn't support the device software too well.

Oh, the Treo? What a mess Palm was. Releasing phones that were never ready for release!:)

Curious, have you tried going into google music app and enabling the equalizer and changing its settings? Made certain ringtones and noti's louder for me.

FX booster works pretty well

Thanks for that suggestion! I'll definitely look into that tonight. If that and LightFlow fix all my woes, all I would need is to hope some third-party manufacturer makes an alternate non-slip battery cover. :D

It is slippery indeed! Gotta get used to it although the ext battery and cover make it less thin and comfort it up a little.

Lightflow is nice it's worked well for me so far. I only use it purely for different colored noti's.

Isn't seidio already shipping their stuff? Like nonslip type of cases? I thought I had seen it on the forum

Just got mine! It's at home waiting for me to get out of work.

Also, have you all read the Verge review of the LTE version? I never thought I would see the day when Josh would rate an Android phone over Fruit!! Nice.

Galaxy Nexus review (Verizon LTE) | The Verge

Thanks for the link! I really like The Verge. Their reviews are the most well organized and comprehensive ones I've come across.

I don't know if it's the phones, but I discovered that ESPN Radio and the Radio.com app drop out after only a few seconds. I was wondering if it was my phones, too (and I have a good Klipsch pair), but I then tried TuneIn, and it worked like a charm.

Might be a software issue. Weird that it wouldn't work with Google Music. I'll give that a try and let you know what I find.

Anyone pick up the extended battery? Just ordered one for $25

I figured I was going to get a second battery anyway for back up so might as well get the extended one.

Question: For my back up battery, If it is not in the phone, how long will a full charge keep? I don't want to keep it in there for a week and then need it all of a sudden and pop it in and its only at 50%.

I did get the paid version. I don't usually like doing that, but I thought it was an awesome enough product.

I am NOT forking over all that money for Titanium Backup Pro, though. That guy has gotten more and more greedy.

Frakking McScrooge.

Weird. Asked me to allow SU permissions, too. Oh well. At least it works.

Titanium saved me twice. Once with the free. That's when I forked over the money. Then again when I borked the phone and re flashed but forgot to back up. I was able to go back 2 versions and get what I needed.

No issues at all. Sound is just OK with the oem headphones. Pause switch works well no connection issues ;)
