No good as a phone?

Why do I call this a Garbage Phone.

Its about the signal stupid.....

it has the best screen ever, fastest camera, super fast chips..fast 4g, latest android,..blah..blah..blah.

But I can't use it because I have no damn signal on it, 4g or 3g at my house.

I actually bought two of them, one for me and one for my brother who lives with me.

My Droid X never once dropped a call at my house with full bars all the time. (My friends Razr also had full signal with fast 4g and perfect voice calling)

Both Gnex had no signal in 4g or 3g and I had to use my house phone to make calls because Gnex would drop calls left and right and became unusable.

Before we start looking at all the goodies a phone comes with. Can we all just take a breather and ask ourselves.....but can I use it to make phone calls...duhh...that is why we have cell phones in the first place right!!??

Returning both phones today, really bummed that Samsung, Verizon and google think I am a sheep and that I am too stupid to research this problem on the internet.

Thanks for the 300 dollar paperweight.

And for the people who think I am crazy,...look at this forum and other forums,...a lot of people are having the same problem with signal.

learned my lesson, never buy phone on launch date,..I will wait a month after a launch.

I never missed my Droid X like I did when I was on Gnex.

Yup. Makes calls no issue here. Sorry to hear you don't have strong signal.

you guys are right....so I bought two phones and they both were unusable, but I still need to get two more phones to proof you guys are right.

How is it possible that my Droid X had perfect signal (3g) and never once dropped a call and after Gnex I am resorted to use a landline to run my company.

Back to Droid X with full signal and no more landline.

Everybody on the XDA, android forum, all the droid forums around are also crazy and their complains are also fake.

I don't like buying expensive gadgets and playing Russian roulette with signal strength when my entire company is relying on me having the ability to talk on the cell phone.

Can you hear me now.

Since you obviously live in an area that doesn't have a good signal doesn't make the phone garbage. No it doesn't get the same signal as other phones but I'm willing to be the majority of the GN owners are making and receiving calls with no issues.

I guess you didn't take your time to read my post, but its ok..

Here it is in full caveman terminology.

2 of these Samsung Galaxy Nexus: NO 4g, NO 3g, Barely can make and receive calls, Drops 10 out of 10 after a few seconds

2 of these Droid X: Full Signal 3g, never once drops a call (had it since it came out)

1 of this Droid Razr: Full Signal 4g, 3g, 10 down + 10 up on 4g, never once drops a call. (friend comes over since launch and comes over a lot to hang out)

I call it garbage, because garbage also has no signal.

Back on Both Droid X with full Signal strength and perfect as before.

I wish I didn't rely on my phone so much to run entire company, if cell phones were just for fun, it would not bother me as much. But this stupid Galaxy phone made me lose a few important customers because during important calls, the Gnex would drop calls over and over again, pissing off my customers.

I get better reception than my other phones, and I'm not talking about looking at some stupid arbitrary graphical bars.

I'm talking real world call quality. I've already had callers remark that I sound clearer on their end. They sound clearer on my end too. What they need to fix is the bar display for all the crazy bench marking fanatics.

No issues at all here. I agree sounds to me from what ive read most people complaining about signal must live in a poor service area, because im not experiencing any dropped data, calls etc on mine.. the dbm is a little higher than my Bionic but it hasnt affected usability at all.

I find that it's a superb phone for calls. Hear the ringer no issues, handset volume (not speaker) is VERY loud, much louder than Droid, Droid X and Blackberries.

No dropped call issues. Data is another thing at times, but it is actually improving with time, not sure how. Speed check getting faster in the same locations. Battery iife is improving too.

Has there been an official acknowledgement of this problem from Verizon or Google?

I really want to keep this phone and I'm hopeful that a software update will fix it, but how long do I have to try exchanging it for another Nexus? I don't want to be stuck with a device that can't get a connection from my office and is pretty spotty elsewhere.
