Hey guys, just had a few questions about the sensation that I just got, don't really know much about smartphones and trying to learn what I can do.

I have a limited data plan because I usually have wifi everywhere, so for android apps, can I download them by using wifi so that I don't get deducted in the data?
Can I also sync like facebook and twitter and google using wifi, but if I do will that use data in the backround if I'm not connected to wifi?
I'm also getting double contacts after I moved my sim card from my old phone to this phone, one shows up with a blank person, and the other one shows a sim card next to it... should I delete them manually or can I do something?

Thanks for all the help, appreciate it a lot.

Hello,
I'm new to smartphones and to forums...I'm not even sure if I'm at the right place to ask this question.

I just got an HTC Sensation 4G, since I got it I keep gettign a notification to install system software update, but when i click "ok" to accept the update my phone gets stock with a black screen, it has the little android guy in the middle with a blue triangle and a yellow ! exclamation point.

I let the phone seat like that for a while thinkign that is gonna do something, but nothing for hours on end, so I have to remove battery for a few minutes then put it back in to get it to tun on.

Can someone tell me how to fix this? or what the problem may be?

Thanks in advance for your help
Analia.

First question: You could leave wifi on all the time, and take advantage of wifi from public places, but i don't advise it. It's not secure. you can set your apps to manually update that way they only use data when you tell it to. It's in the settings>accounts and just uncheck "auto-update." You may have to wait a few more seconds when opening something, but it won't randomly consume data, and it'll save you battery power!

Second question: Do you live in an area with spotty coverage? Use wifi if you can. Also give the phone a few reboots before you update it. If that doesn't help any, there are a select group that might send you the files to put on your sd card and update via recovery.

Hope I was of some help.
