ICS on SGSII Epic 4G Touch

I think the Sprint SGS2 is the best one because of Sprint ID. I'm on the ICS FB21 Leak and I'm using the "Clean" Sprint ID and its exactly the same as Stock 4.0 except with a little bit of the cool TouchWiz elements like the task manager when you hold home, the power controls on the notification bar, and the LockScreen. Its awesome and I don't think the other SGS2's have a stock launcher without root which makes this one awesome! :D

Just saying, even experienced dev's over at XDA are bricking their e4gt's trying to flash the leaks and countless others experienced problems "updating" it to a newer leak or going back to stock without following the exact directions.

Would not seriously recommend going to any of the ICS leaks unless you're absolutely determined, know what you're doing, and know that you might brick your phone...

I'll live with calkulins 2.9.1 till the entire installation process for the leaks are clarified / simplified.

Its not as hard as u think and the walk thru is on You Tube......Ive bricked mine twice and got right back in 15 minutes thru Odin and using the Stock Tar File to take you right back to stock right outta the Box...QB King77"s videos are unreal...hes the best...But like you say you have to follow the steps...and believe me... Im no Dev... and its really simple to do...

Very good point Nemesys. I love my GS2, but HATE touchwiz. Go launcher is my saving grace and what keeps me from going back to an HTC phone. I wish we could get a stock ICS, without rooting.

You don't have to use touchwiz on ICS. You go to manage apps select TwLauncher select clear data clear defaults and hit the home button and select launcher (not twlauncher) as your default launcher and you are touchwiz free!!!

What is so special agout ics?

Go to qbking77 on You Tube you can see all the Videos on How ICS runs and wurks...Its just a new sysytem with some new Goodies includin Face Recognition...They are already wurkin on Jellybean which will be Android 5.0...Sum people will like it and sum won't...I like it myself and running it right now on my Galaxy Touch...Mine has been tweaked and customed out with help from Devs on XDA...Like I said go to You Tube and u can see it in action for yourself...Your'e gonna have it soon whether u like it or not...Or root your phone and u can have it now...

I like some of the features that ICS brings to the table including using the memory in the device and the SD slot, not that this effects the S2 but some of the older devices (Evo 4g) would benefit. I also like the ability to shut off TouchWiz. I imagine running TouchWiz and GoLauncher on the system uses a bit of resources and battery life I could be using elsewhere

My only reason to think that ICS will be delayed a bit is that Sprint will be getting the Galaxy Nexus. If ET4G already will have ICS before the release of the Nexus, there isn't a whole lot of reason for the customers to buy the Nexus

Based on what I know, the Nexus won't see Sprint this month and possibly April either.

The Nexus won't be out until the 2nd half of this year. ICS has been out since Dec and they are already working on Jellybean. So if Samsung and/or Sprint make us wait another 4-5 months because they want people to buy the Nexus instead, I will be selling my S2 and getting an iPhone. Sick of this shit.

Again, I am just speculating. Based on what I know, the Nexus would not be available until at least May. I agree, I would be selling my S2 as well, however, I also don't see any devices on the horizon that would be ICS ready. I'd even consider rooting if cyanogenmod was available WITHOUT additional tweaking. I have some skills but I am not THAT good

As far as the Nexus, they may push it back to at least around the time the first Sprint LTE market goes online.

LTE. There's a reason.

And for some reason, everyone's complaining about TouchWiz. The only bad things about TouchWiz are that the dock is not customizable and the Media Hub. The brightness trick, home button task manager trick, and the notifications bar 4G/sound toggle are very useful to me every day.
Even if the dock still isn't customizable, I can't wait for ICS. Face unlock and the camera with no shutter lag are both badass.

EDIT:
Also this.
I'm quite happy with the epic the way it is right now. ICS would just be icing on the cake.

Don't forget the swype to call feature in the contacts or call logs, my personal favorite touch wiz feature.
