Problems:
Battery Life
- Whenever I look at my phone, the battery is on red. I have Juice Defender Ultimate and it does nothing at all. The battery life sucks.
I don't have the Extended Battery because I need a case.
Another problem:
Lagging/Unresponsive Phone
- I flashed my phone to GingerSteem 1.0 w/ Blit. Kernel. I have SetCPU set to:
1305 Max
368 Min
Lagfree Governor
and it lags like hell!!
Can anyone give me some advice before I freak ?
I don't like the theme of GingerSteem Extreme so I'd rather not flash to that.
1. I've stopped worrying about battery life-- Phillips makes a nifty combo attachable battery pack & charging base.
Plus phone charges up pretty quick. Try ZDBox... n a lock screen off shortcut button...
2. Responsiveness, the bigger fish to fry(which also assists #1 some)...it's not the roms, but
a. the apps on phone with their excessively continuous & redundant background processes/updates/watches/protection, etc. So many apps want to do everything: tweak, protect, update, backup, etc.
b. free internal memory & storage space,
c. maybe even an sdcard going bad...,you could experiment with a cloned one....
I've accumulated 400 apps and got my phone back to brand new state-- instant, zero lag at all times-- with the following:
freed close to a gig each of internal memory & internal storage space by moving as much as possible to external. What remains in internal are frequently used apps + others that are not advisable to run from external, even if seldom used.
disabled all security apps-- i'm taking personal responsibility for ensuring only safe apps are added.
scoured all modules and settings to eliminate unnecessary auto processes...as well as lowered excessive frequency of necessary ones.
Parted company with any browser, downloader, backup app that does not allow changing data location to external(just data, not necessarily cache btw)
PS not a fan of most widgets n autorun/background processes...only some.
Nor of resource hogging launchers/starters/themes/live backgrounds.
360 Launcher translated at xda is awesome.
Big, fast new sdcard has really helped also.
I kid you not-- hundreds of apps + almost all carrier bloatware(only removed 2, but added many others)-- and ABSOLUTE ZERO LAG / LIKE NEW.
W/o compromising syncs and backups either.
Good Luck.
