AT&T has been pretty bad lately, but I wonder how much of their issues is because of the iPhone's hardware. My Contract with AT&T doesn't end till summer of 2011. I like not having a contract either but the wife hates AT&T.

This is HUGE news... I hate AT&T with a passion, but more Nexus Ones is a good thing for all... their sales are low (which on the flipside, is great for exclusivity .... but more Nexi, means quicker rollouts of updates, and hopefully more and better apps too...

pop in the SIM and use the phone as you normally do. at&t sees a different imei number and that's about it. you're already paying $30/monthly for data so that won't change. i've been using unsubsidized phones on at&t for the last 4 years (because at&t has a limited selection) and haven't had any problem.

You might also have to call AT&T and have them change your data plan since on T-mobile I had to change my data plan to an "android data plan" to get it to work even though I changed from a G1 which they said had its own data plan.

I believe the only time you would have to call AT&T to change data plans is if you have a Blackberry and you are trying to swap to a non Blackberry. AT&T separates their Blackberry data plans from other smartphone data plans.

Bought a G1 on the day it was released, and then a Nexus 1 on the day it was released. I have not had to change anything on my data plan.

quick question, i have the N1 TMobile version, but using it with AT&T; also, i added the data block on my line, now if i were to get the ATT version, would i be able to use it without their data plan as i am near wifi 80-90% of the time?

i may just put up mine on craigslist and get the ATT version
