Verizon Pre-order, Release date, and speculation thread

So I ordered on 6/12
charged cc 7/5
got shopping email today, says will ship Monday, 2-day shipping.

All this week they told me it was in the system as standard overnight. Now Fedex says 2-day, and of course there is nothing Verizon can do about it now.

Well, they met their ship by date in my confirmation so as I said to others, I can't be too upset, but I am less than pleased.

I know I'm getting it before others reading this but less than happy considering when I ordered.

Count me as one of those less than thrilled that store walk-ins may have theirs before me. - Yes, I know I get 32gb and unlimited data while they won't.

I know how you feel Hal, I got off the phone with Verizon earlier about the overnight vs 2nd day shipping that some people are getting but just went around in circles even though it showed as Free Overnight Shipping at the time of my order.

Glad you finally got a shipping confirmation email at least.

Talked to a friend who works at verizon store as manager to try to settle my cancelled issue and was told they have limited stock on Tuesday and they are going to let them sell off what they already have now. They have an additional shipment coming in on Monday, but that is to be held for verizons launch day.

He doesnt go in till 1:00, but is supposed to hold one for me if they have some left and will try to talk to the person in-charge earlier that morning to try to have them hold one till he gets there.

And your initial impressions?

I have to say that I'm coming from a broken down HTC incredible. That being said, It was very responsive and smooth. The size of the screen was awesome. Nice and bright.. My wife has a 4s, but she loved the weight and size of this phone. The iphone seemed like a rock compared to the S3. It also was very fast. I really liked it. I didn't use it for long, there was others that wanted to try it.

I can't wait for tomorrow...Listen to me, I'm freaking out over a phone...I gotta be outta my mind..

If 3 different CS rep tells me one thing, like "it going out standard overnight" then it ships 2nd day, someone lied to me.

I guess with 100 million customer there's really no reason for them to be concerned about any of us. It's not like they're going to loose a million customers because those with later orders are getting theirs before some earlier orders. Just go on thumbing your nose at us singing na-na-na-na-na-na

BUT, like I said in earlier posts, I don't begrudge any of you who get you S3 before me.

Hmm interesting. That may only be that particular store. All the managers around me won't sell any until Thursday (so they say). This launch is really screwed up...there's going to be quite a few people going in on Tuesday expecting to pick up a S3 since Verizon made that an official launch day last week.

Hope other corporate stores are going to do the same, I have a RAZR Maxx I purchased June 26 and I'm going to exchange it for the Galaxy S3 the 10th the last day of the 14 day return window.
I purchased the Maxx over the phone on 6/26, but received it 6/29. I was told by one csr
the 14 day return starts when the phone is delivered, but who knows, you get a different answer from each employee.

was out of the box?

Its going to be around 26-28 gbs. You'll never get the advertised size.
Now if yours has like 22 out of the box then I would do a fresh wipe.

Been lurking a while to see what's been goin on with everyone else's s3's!

My info: (had to do some detective work to find my order # - any emails about my phone go to the account owner, of who I do not have much contact with.. so I am lost as to tracking emails and such! :'((( )

anyway, here is what I have managed to dig up!

>Went into a Verizon store 6/22 and pre-ordered Pretty BLUE! 32gb S3
>CC was charged last night 7/7 and is pending (but BofA takes forever to switch from pending to competed, even if I had bought a damn ice cream!)
>Spent all afternoon trying to figure out how to get my order number (all I had was my receipt, since I don't have access to the emails, as stated.)
Anyway - looks like my order was shipped 7/7 due here 7/9 - sunny Cali, bay area.
I have a FedEx tracking number I think (the number you get when you click the little (+) on the verizon order status page) but there is no info on the FedEx page for this tracking number... so wtf?

I want mah phone!! And I hope to go i'm home when it comes... damn signing crap.

Edit: Oh, I guess the '0' in the beginning of the tracking number is useless, so here is my new info:

Instead of another press release, they put a five word blurb on the Galaxy S3 web page late Saturday night. Pretty chicken chit.

fedex page just updated showing it left the facility in memphis at 5:15 today and is in route, come'on baby..... im not trusting anything with verizon until its actually in my hands
