Hoping someone out here can help! I just tried rooting my Verizon Galaxy S3 using Oding and root66 and at the end of the process my phone rebooted and stayed stuck on the Verizon 4G LTE screen. I tried removing battery and restarting phone but every time it still stays stuck on that screen. Any help greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hold Vol+ and the home button with power when you boot to enter recovery. Wipe data, wipe cache, wipe davlik and reboot.

Ah, it appears that video was the procedure to root if you were on ICS.
So, in my opinion, I think we need to go back to stock, unroot, then reroot.

Go to this link and go to step 5. I would choose the VRBLK3 4.1.1 file.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762709
Flash that file in ODIN.
After that flash, you will be unrooted.
Then follow this guide to root:

Here is a video for that process:
How To Root Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 4.1.1 & Install CWM Recovery! SCH-I535 - YouTube

I think that will get you back to where you want to be:)

If someone else can confirm this process, then joy will follow:D

I have no idea about what effect using the wrong root method would have, but I would probably still just try to wipe first. Your data (minus media) is screwed at this point anyway. I would just wipe data\cache\davlik, then reboot and wait up to 7-10 minutes. If that doesn't boot, go ahead and re ODIN as the post has above. I do know that installing a ROM will wipe all the root-no root stuff afterwards anyway, so if you can get a boot up without having to ODIN again it may save time. Not 100% sure, but it can't hurt.

Thank you so much for your help but I have one more problem. Everything you suggested worked perfectly, I was able to root my phone with no problem, then I made a pretty big mistake... I downloaded Titanium Backup Pro and then deleted some of the Verizon program apps I didn't think I would be needing anymore(without backing them up). Any idea how to retrieve those program apps???

hmmmm....you could flash this rooted, 4.1.2 rom or I can try to find the stock, rooted 4.1.1 rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133235
Besides doing that, I don't know what else to do except maybe trying to extract just those apk's from the stock 4.1.1 rom, ya know? And push them to the /system/apk with Root Explorer.

Also, having a Tmobile sim card...don't know if that messes with anything with a Verizon rom at all.

Tell ya what..the closest think I have found to a stock, rooted rom is this:
[ROM] Stock, Root, Deodexed JellyBean Leak 4 [I533VRBLK3] - Verizon Galaxy S III Development - RootzWiki
flashable in recovery.
Instead of going thru all the hassle, (not really a hassle) of unrooting, rerooting just to get your apps back....
I am downloading it now so I can extract it to see what apps are in there:)

And sorry if I confused you :( .... in my post 7, I have links to unroot, then re-root.
I thought you had done that already before your app issues:)

in your opinion do you think i would get back the apps i deleted if i just unroot and then factory reset the phone? if so i can always reroot it no problem

Yes. You can by following the unroot procedure;)

or how do i install the factory rooted rom from your previous post?
You flash that in your recovery...be sure to wipe cache and dalvik cache, factory reset in recovery then flash the Rom. Be sure to download the Rom to your sd card first though!
And very important...make a nandroid backup in recovery before you wipe and flash...a nandriod backup is a snapshot of your phone's current state so that if anything goes wrong, you can restore that nandroid backup.
