Installation instructions:

-Install the samsung drivers
-Download Odin
-Download ODIN JellyBean Restore (.exe, not .md5)
-Download Garwynn's recovery (tar version)
-Turn off your phone
-Hold power+volume down to get into Odin download mode and hit continue
-Plug in your phone to your computer
-Run the Odin Jellybean restore on your phone. This will take a while.
-After that's all done, and your phone has rebooted, go back into Odin download mode, open the Odin program you downloaded, select PDA, choose the agat's recovery you just downloaded (should be a .tar file) and push agats recovery to your phone.

(This will cause the yellow triangle, but that can be fixed using the included TriangleAway app.)

How to flash:
-Download the latest MidnightRom Version
-Turn off the phone again
-Hold power+volume up until the Samsung Galaxy SII logo pops up.
-Go into the mounts and storage menu and format the following: Cache, System, Data.
(Be careful not to format EMMC as will erase your internal memory card!)
-Go back and select install zip from SD card
-Choose zip from either internal or external depending on where you put the rom.zip file
-Flash it
-After it's done just reboot into system and enjoy!

-Changed time of received messages to sent time not the moment when you actually received it
-SMS hour limit now set to 1000 (Untested)
-Enabled screen on/off toggle, vibration, and sig options
-Noticeable battery life improvement

Notice:
The newest kernel/recovery fixes issues the last one had regarding permissions, backing up, and tons of other stuff. Because most of you probably still have 3.0, BEFORE INSTALLING THIS VERSION, you MUST either install [kernel][jb][source][vmub] gb28 + cwm (zip file) through recovery, OR install the latest version of MidnightRomGS2JB TWICE! The reason being that the first time, permissions won't stick, but the newest recovery will be installed.

4/8/2013 1.0.0
-First release

Can you add a s3 launcher ?
Maybe in the future.
and what about OTG usb? think you can put that on the to do list? :D
I think it should work right off the bat.

Update:

Work on it is progressing nicely. Everything is deodexed and I've been working on optimizing everything. Expect a release sometime tonight

i was gonna deodex it tonight myself but since you did it now i dont have to bother with ADB and junk, THANKS! YOU ROCK, WILL YOU HAVE MY BABIES?? :p
xD Thanks. It was honestly a HUGE freaking pain to deodex it >.<
What is gained by deodexing? Can someone appease my curiosity?

Runs faster, easier to theme, and lots of other stuff.

Update:

Got it to boot! woo!

Will this be a themed rom just like stock. Except with some mods to it.

Well, I gotta get it to work first >.< I've been having REALLY stupid issues all day. It'll be fully superoptimized stock at first.

I'm having weird issues and it's really getting on my nerves T_T

Like...the easiest process, which I've tried over and over, just isn't working, which is so incredibly odd. It's probably because I'm soo tired that I'm forgetting something, but...UGH! It's probably something stupid, like permissions not set right or something, but basically, this is what I've been doing.

Install using odin
Install recovery
EVERYTHING boots fine.

Extract files from odin
Make a flashable zip without changing a SINGLE thing (except for adding an install script)
Wipe everything
Flash it
Goes through without issue
Boots up
And either one of two things will happen...
It'll bootloop
OR
It'll go onto the setup screen without the screen usable at all

Okay yeah...after typing all this out, it's most likely some permission I'm forgetting about T_T Sigh...soo tired T_T

Hm...interesting. It may be the kernel.

I was able to boot into JB from a odin restore (After installing agats recovery) Annnddd....About 5 seconds, it crashed T_T

I'm going to bed lol

*edit*

Annndddd I'm 99.9% sure now it's because I wasn't using the full restore package. I was, instead, using the nodata......

Yeah....sleep is never a good friend when messing with a bunch of files

So dakman,

I installed a rooted stock JellyBean GB28 following this tutorial. Maybe you can explore the firmware after installing it. [ROM][ODIN][TAR]SPH-D710VMUB GB28 (GB28 Modem/Kernel/ROM - Root/Stock)

Yup :p That's what I've done.

Installed that.
Installed recovery.
Full backup.
Pull all the files from that.

BUT...doesn't seem to want to install back. Stupid as a dev having these problems, but I've been too tired lately to actually realize what the issue is.

I am guessing that all the farther anyone can get with this is the welcome screen and an unresponsive touch screen when you try to hit start?

I've tried flashing with a couple different recoveries and got it to install from cwm and kuban all with the result mentioned above. Once I had it installed I tried the stock kernel(no recovery) and random other JB kernels and never got farther than the welcome screen. My skills are limited to trial and error with pieces knowledgeable people put together. I was hoping to stumble onto the lucky mix to see it run but no go.
