if you did not include the new partitions I would suggest holding off on this ROM. An update will be available shortly that you can use as a base if you like.

well im not shure what partition your talking about. but this rom is fully working mms gps wifi bluetooth camera front camera calls evreything i got the zte update from pure stock back up trhu stock recovery root fully working too can you explain me a little more about the partition what is it for ???

updates for the underlying functions. like the bootloader and im not sure what else but it seemed to fix the flickering
partitions 1, 2, 8, 9, and 11 were updated along with the rom and the kernel

i flashed the update like the phone should stock everything like from the store or a regular ota update does not have those patitions???

the ota zip file had those partition updates in it... so if you ran the actual ota zip file then you have them updated, but if you then made a flashable zip that only included /system and the boot.img anyone who downloads it and installs it doesnt get those partitions

yeah i ran the actual update like the phone normal should settings updates check for updates update

well i dunno you might have the winner here if the one from superr is actually the cause of the issues people are seeing, i dunno if thats whats causing issues though. if someone else could try this that would be helpful, someone who hasnt installed the update the correct way yet

well tank you im not trying to win i just like to help and almost everything i know about android is tanks to this forum and tank you for your root tool was very usefull to me and tanks to chevanlol for the root in my rom im no trying to compete whit you i wana be like you guys this forum has a lot of smart people an alot of knowledge and as i said i istalled all roms back and foward and the zip was stable all the time it takes like 4 mnts the firs boot but it boots and it fully working and yeah if someone wanna test it before the update it will be good

If you updated with the ota zip your phone has already been updated with the new partitions. So you wouldn't know if your rom would work for other people who have not had their partitions updated. it will work without updating the partitions however, there are some issues as junkie mentioned.

cwm doesnt touch those partitions normally, so no it wouldnt, but i made sure to have them pulled from an updated phone and superr has a copy which was then put into his flashable. the problems people are seeing though i dont know whats going on, i didnt make any of these and i havent yet had the chance to download and try them so i cant really figure out whats going on with either of these

I've read all of this, and all of the other threads about updating. I tell you the complexity is way over the top, (for Joe-average-user). I see the same efforts on this guy's phone, work, while on another guy's cause problems.

I'm looking for the pattern, the actual steps, (all the steps), being used, to success for one guy, versus, the failure(s), with another guy.

As it seems, some variant, some assumption, or something taken for granted, is causing a problem, across the spectrum, for this phone, (same phone).

Make sense?

Here's my personal problem, I have no idea for instance, what's MEANT, (what's intended), when I have repeatedly read, where somebody say's ... "and have stock recovery" .... I know they mean after you install Money's odexed, ... ZTEOffic.B09)

But, I don't know if I'm to DO ANYTHING, besides have stock recovery sitting in a folder on the SD card.
I don't know if that mean's, install ZTEOffic.BO9, than, OVER-RIGHT that by, (in CMW), flashing that stock recovery?

Do you guy's know what I mean? Basic questions, hanging in the air, unresolved, afraid to look stupid, so maybe I ought to .... and maybe, just maybe, some of these problems are resulting from GUESSING, and sometimes, guessing work's, and sometimes guessing what to do doesn't work.

Just throwing this out there, maybe a set of solid instructions, that even dim bulbs can slowly follow along, and than not screw up to bad.

And big thanks to all the Dev. work getting cranked out under tremendous pressure. You guy's ... extra helping's of gruel for you guy's tonight.

I would say this would work for anyone that has already successfully done the ota update and had the new partitions formatted already. If you are still on stock B09 roms then i wouldn't recommend it as it could likely brick the phone, in a worse case scenario at least

DimBulb the process to get the ota to work isnt all that hard.

1. Download the stock odexed B09 rom and flash it
2. leave cwm on the phone
3. download the ota from your phone when you get it
4. before installing the ota use root explorer and navigate to the cache folder in the root of the phone, copy the obscenely long file named zip to your sd card root and leave the one in the cache folder also
5. once copied and the file is in both places reboot to cwm recovery
6. do a factory reset
7. install the zip from your sd card and voila!

to maintain root you will need to download the root zip here - https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/59319257/root.zip
then return to cwm and flash the root zip (credits to chevanlol360 for the root zip)

Also for anyone that missed it this is how you force the update to your phone

1. Go to settings > apps > all > Google Services Frameworks
2. Clear data and Force Stop Google Services Framework
3. Go to settings > system update > Update ZTE software
5. Get the update!

There's no real answer to why the same method gives different results. Murphys Law I suppose. If someone doesn't get a working zip by this evening, I'll upload my tweaked update zip and outline the method that is working and stable for me, with the understanding that by my removing certain checks in the update if you don't do it just right you could easily brick.

why did you post the same thing twice?

The profundity of my post, just overwhelmed and befuddled, but apparently only briefly, as he replied with some answers to address the points I made.

Now, for me, those instructions of blargh420's go a long way, and I can try that. No mention of the stock recovery, so that's taken as not important to move around, or do any flashing with

(First I've heard of root.zip by the way) But, if required to keep root after flashing the upgrade, seems like an important part of the process.
