Root [Boost Mobile] [ROM] Official LiquidSmooth Nightlies!!

Are you getting 4g when you are on the stock TW? Just to be clear on what im doing to get mine to work 100%

Flash to stock TW
Update prl and profile

Reboot into recovery
wipe data, cache, and dalvik cache.

Flash liquidsmooth_3.0-20140329.zip

Flash Gapps Modular

Reboot and let phone run for 5 min after skipping setup

Reboot into recovery, wipe cache, and dalvik cache
Flash CM-AOSP_D2BST_APN_FIX.zip

Reboot let phone sit for a couple minutes (you should see 4g / LTE at this point) if not go to go to settings/ more / mobile networks / preferred network type : and make sure it is on LTE/CDMA/EVDO/GSM/WCDNA then it should hopefully switch to 4g / lte if your in an area that has it. Dont worry about the mms fix i posted until you got 4g first.

I got everything set up and everything worked fine except...lol. In the Seattle area the 4g has pockets that come and go rather quickly. This rom has issues picking up the 3g or 4g when it switches and I was constantly losing data and had to go into airplane mode to get it back. Awesome rom if you're in a consistent area but here it isn't so I had to go back to TW. Sigh. Maybe someday. lol.

Yeah mine did that a couple times yesterday until i picked the LTE/CDMA/EVDO/GSM/WCDNA now it switches super quick when i come off wifi.

I tried that but was still having issues. It might just be that it switches back and forth so much here that it gets stuck. Otherwise this ROM is awesome. I have always liked how light weight these roms are when compared to things like TW and Sense. I might try it again eventually but for now I rely too much on my phone to work while driving to use it. TW flips back and forth without problems.

This needs to go into that sticky... I will try that when I get home, I haven't had a chance to install a tw ROM since I was at school and their WiFi blocks it. I will post when I get the chance and let y'all know how it goes.

Still no 4G or LTE... I did the fixes exactly as it should've been done, and I'm in an area where I know for certain I should be getting 4G. Maybe I'll just go back to stock for a bit while I figure it out. Maybe the apns version is different from the one specified in framework or MMS.apk?

Good so see ya over here skinny... I ran into that on LS too. I'm running mk3 . excellent 4g with slim kat. MMS requires a workaround. I've been looking into fixes. I'll tell you what I've been working on when I get to my laptop. Maybe you'll have some ideas...

Nice to see you on the S3 side too rickpcb, and I'm actually gonna work with Jet on Team Osiris probably to get dome stuff done with the boost S3 since he does the actual Sprint S3 work on XDA. I have some ideas for real fixes of my own, but it'll take me a while. I think there might be some things specific to each ROM that require modification for everything to fully work in them. When I can get home tonight and try and fix my 4G then I'll get to work on some stuff for this phone. Huge upgrade from the Warp, I'll admit.

Now that's what I'm talking about!!! Nice to see another member in the Boost S3 section who wants to do some Boost specific work. :thumb:

Welcome aboard Skinny! :D

Anyone have this wallpaper they can link me to or tell me where to find it? I want to do some mods to it and I can't find where it is located in my phone.

I looked through the Liquidsmooth wallpapers and unfortunately it's one of the ones that doesn't display. A good place for you to ask would be the Liquidsmooth Google + Community. I'm sure one of the members has it and will gladly share with you.

That will be sweet to have you and Jet here. The stuff I'm working on is for the unified builds to try to get boost automatically set up without 4g fixes and aftermarket MMS work arounds. Mostly in build.prop, apns.XML eri.XML and in the MMS apk. But I'm still missing some things lol

Best of luck to you! I can't wait to not need the 4g fix or 3rd party MMS

Edit: Swipe hates me

I got LTE up and running... now I just have to set up stock mms using apn backup and restore. Hopefully I won't lose data.

EDIT: I'm getting issues with the apns backup and restore app. Set as a system app, disabled ics checks, and still not able to do anything because it gets an error.

Anyways, as far as better fixes, apparently a stock ril lib *may* work with these roms and help with the radios. There are 3 ril libs in the /system/lib/ folder of the stock rom. I replaced the ones in Dirty Unicorns and I ended up with no data at all. However, they may work in LiquidSmooth. Or, someone may have better luck with D.U. I'm posting this in here because others may have much better luck than I. In the folder, I suggest trying anything with "ril" in it EXCEPT libreference-ril.so. I haven't tried with this one, though it may or may not work. I'm gonna keep trying to find something that'll work so that we won't need to flash a Sprint rom and then hope that a fix will work properly.

I am having the same problem but also can't connect to our 4g in the area. I know it has it because when I switch to my nandroid back up of MOAR I have LTE coverage

This issue is why I chose SlimKat for d2spr instead of a unified ROM. Everything works. I've been breaking liquid smooth down trying to find everything that needs to be added to the unified ROMs to include boost... Just trying to find time to work on it is tough right now. Either way until or if cm supports boost we're kinda stuck since most of these ROMs are based on cm.

I think I'm going to try out SlimKat, it seems to be more stable.

I also think that it'd be a good idea for a couple of us to come together and make one zip to flash that will apply necessary fixes for any or at least some aosp roms. As in, correct mms, flash apns, and if it works then the correct RILs for these roms. It's better to have one large zip for multiple roms than many small zips for specific roms.

I think it'd be best to start with d2spr builds. Then we can pull stuff from there and add it to the roms that use unified builds, and progress on from there.

So the things that everyone knows we need are APNs, that MMS fix, the modified build.prop, and I'm assuming the RILs.

That's the start... Probably won't need rils. Hopefully I'll have some time this weekend to dig into it.
