I received mine today around 10:30 am and have been spending some free time setting it up. I did notice that it runs a tad warmer than how my Nexus 5 ran. Not scalding hot by any means, but temps have been ranging in the 100-105 range according to GSAM while downloading some apps over wifi. Is this consistent with others have seen thus far?

Several reviewers noted that when downloading multiple apps.

Not sure but I think Tech Radar measured the case temperature at 101°F (3 degrees above body temperature) when that was going on.

Ditto,I saw temps get to 109f (internal),but that was indeed on the 1st mass app(s) update from GOOGLE PLAY on a fairly weak data signal (Avg. 112 dBm/27 asu on LTE @ the house on T-MO :( ).
Conversly,at idle on the charger,fully charged,at cool room temp,less than 80f.

BLINKFEED is my numero uno use on a phone,I'll check the temps w/that & get back here this evening.
Just for giggles,I ran ANTUTU,to check on this very thing,as heating was the scuttlebutt.
Similar temps,about 107f (internal).
That's probably approaching the high-end as to what most will see periodically, not as an all-day operating temperature.
Perfectly OK at those temps, nothing alarming here.
Of course,we'll get someone on here trying their damnest to boil an egg, just to prove a pointless point.(see YOU-TUBE).

This will no doubt be a topic of discussion on its own,a thread will pop-up any day now.

The heater meme has already reached critical mass and like the Ultrapixel meme and the new M9 camera sucks meme, will never die.

Guarantee that this time next year, someone will post out of blue that they're buying phone XYZ because they heard that the M9 never fixed the heating problem, and do we think that the M10 will continue to suck as bad?

Samsung has done an outstanding job at astroturfing this year they really have.

Yeah,I have a love/hate relationship w/Samsung.
They don't play nice when it comes to market share.I equate it to sniper fire on the general public & chemical warfare.
None of these guys are w/o sin, but,Sammy has no qualms to find a new low in such tactics.

Actually,a more accurate analogy would be Samsung releasing a room-encompassing SBD & scurrying out the back door,w/everyone pointing at HTC......... :D

Call HTC & ask about Model # OPJA100,that is what is in the listing.
Ditto w/AMAZON. Call them & check their return policy on smartphones before ordering.
I called HTC and the guy wasn't sure if the unlocked version would work with metro on LTE. I just went ahead and decided to order the developer edition straight from HTC.

Awesome!
You won't have any problems connecting to MPCS' network.
Only thing you're losing vs the T-Mobile variant is WI-FI Calling.
Oh yeah, you'll also have to do without the carrier bloatware.......

Hi Kolio - Thanks for all the feedback on the M9... How you like it so far? I really want to get the developer version and I am with Tmobile, can you confirm that the WiFi calling is the only feature not working for you on the developer with Tmobile services?
Thanks,

After a weeks use,I'm stoked. This is one sweet phone. :)
To the blogosphere that's been rather meh on the M9  ,I COULDN'T DISAGREE MORE ;) :

1) While the styling is similar to its predecessors, that's not a bad thing. The beveled edge & change in texture on the backside help out,you find yourself holding the phone, comfortably, not death-gripping it.

2) Performance-wise,everything I want out of a phone it does well.It's fast/stutter-free & excellent battery life.The display is crisp & clear w/realistic colors,w/o appearing dull/muted.

3) I'm not gonna dig too deep into the adjective bag, you'd do yourself a big favor by taking a look for yourself,or,take one home w/ya. Best way I can put it is this:
While the M9 is a top-line spec beast, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Not to sound corny, but, that's kinda the idea behind HTC's SENSE U/I,you'll enjoy using this phone.

Wow @KOLIO I always look forward to your write-ups, I know that you're objective and never get tied down to just one phone.

That said - I think this is the most praise I've seen from you yet for any phone. Is that right?

You may be right about that.
I've genuinely liked just about every phone that I've had, w/a few notable exceptions:
1) LG G3 : (I can't come up w/an analogy to describe my displeasure for the display)
2) Samsung Galaxy S3 : (uncontrollable zooming, took a long time waiting for a fix, it came, but, not so much as an acknowledgement/etc. ).

Here's my MT. RUSHMORE of phones:

M9 / 1+1 / LG G2 / NOTE4

* The OPPO FIND7 deserves an honorable mention, loses 1/2 star for battery life, while not horrible, coulda been a bit better.

Now, my wishlist for the M10:
SENSE U/I & speakers, a mix of 1+1's Sandstone finish/capacitive buttons & LG's button layout, top-off w/Note4 stylus & voilá,the HTC ULTIMATE.

In the meantime, this phone is settling in just fine. :)
Gonna take care of it too, I plan on using the $100 discount next year. ;)
