Help slow phone

I have a galaxy s3 and lately it's been super slow. Like when I try texting, it types slow and takes forever to send. How can I speed up my phone ?

Hi,go to settings >storage>cached data>clear cache. Return settings>storage>apps> scroll down to the keyboard app and tap here tap on clear data,also tap on clear data on the email/Gmail app.if the device is slow with every function, it is time for a factory reset.

I'd recommend NOT doing a 'Clear data' on apps like Gmail because that would wipe your configured settings. On the other hand 'Clear cache' is a safe way to remove non-vital, temp files that aren't relevant to an apps functionality.
