Not able to answer calls

Hi
My problem is that when I get an incoming call the screen stays blank. No icons appear to let me answer or reject the call. Hitting the power button kills the call. I can then locate the missed call and ring back. It works fine on Bluetooth in the car as normal. So have I altered a setting somehow or is the phone now faulty?

Any advice greatly appreciated. I have turned off and on a few times but that didn't help either

Check the proximity sensor isn't obstructed, like if it's covered with a screen protector or dirt or something. It's located at the top near the front facing camera.

Thanks very much for the suggestions. I will try the reset as soon as I have backed it up. The sensor seems clear and clean. I will post back as to whether it works

Prior to doing this reset I need to fully backup the phone so I can restore everything afterwards or to a new phone if I have to go that way.

I have been looking on playstore and others for suitable apps etc. Can anyone recommend the best way to do this please. I would like to be able to just transfer to my laptop rather than a cloud option if possible
