A "Ring" doorbell. My live-in helper saw an ADT ad [for new customers] that includes a Ring doorbell. She asked for permission to talk to ADT to see if she could sweet talk them into a deal for a long-time customer. She did, and they did! They waived all fees and installed it today; it'll add $2/month to my bill.

One of its features is a map showing all the other Ring users in your neighborhood, along with any alerts they may have posted, like a suspicious person or porch pirates, the latter of which is a big deal here--I've been hit twice.:rolleyes:

Why to I have the urge to run around your neighborhood and start ringing doorbells? ;) :D
I don't know--but it would be the most exciting thing that's happened around here in a long time! So if you want to give it a whirl...

I can just see all the alerts popping up: "man, thought to be a lunatic, seen ringing doorbells!"

:D :D
