Its an ask build....meaning its mostly broken, slow, and useless and again on a .29 kernel.

Dont think the kernel really matters because froyo ran just fine on the eris with the .29 one. they just had workarounds cooked into the rom for everything to work.

Also kaosfroyo started the same way as the gingerbread one.

I want Punk.Kaos to get a fascinate!!

punk.kaos had a fascinate and it broke

and while yes improvements can be made in spite of the kernel, no matter what you do it can never fully replicate having the correct kernel.

that aside i was just making the point that the sdk gingerbread builds on many phones are fun to play around with, but not an everyday gingerbread rom....so there wasnt a whole lot to get worked up over

as a former user of the eris, and a current user of the fascinate i can say this:

the eris could be running 3.8 for all I care, it'll still be a pile of garbage.. slow, glitchy garbage. the processor isnt even 600mhz

although I am a little peeved about being stuck on 2.1 after coming from the incredible that had 2.2 before the fascinate was even released!

The Eris is a battery hog too. Unbelieveable even when you underclock it. I think the radios must just suck juice. At 710Mhz the Eris is just usable (for my wife). Since the SF is on 2.1 and the Eris too. They are easy to compare. Though the Eris has flash lite, the SF has a better browsing experience. What's missing for me is the multiple Exchange accounts.

My Dad just got a Vibrant. The 3G seemed really slow on Tmo. Otherwise an equal phone to the SF and also running 2.1.
