I have no clue how to root this phone but I am going to have to learn very soon. I got the phone a month ago and there were many stock apps that I wanted to delete that could not be deleted like the Amazon MP3, Sprint NASCAR, Sprint TV, etc etc. But I used the LauncherPro to "delete" the icons from my homepages. Today, I updated my software and got several MORE stuff that I defintiely do not want - Blockbuster, Nova(game), etc. I mean.. it's getting ridiculous! How many of these stupid useless apps are we going to have to live with??? I understand the fanancial reasons behind this but it's getting to the point of making the phone very very user UNfriendly!

Its revenue. They are paid to put the NFL mobile and other crap on there. Its essentially the same as the bloatware on discounted computers.

Yea and I think they called themselves listening to us by adding a movie app, unfortunately most of us rooted folk have Hulu, should have given us Netflix or Google TV....

Well, when you do root, the phone is all yours! I took all that stuff off that i dont use too. Hopefully there will be a root method for you soon since you did the update, just keep an eye on this board and xda and stay tuned for someone to post it up

I can't understand the huge fuss about the "bloatware". There isn't much of it that I ever used either, but it never got in the way. By the time you set up some home screens, load up some folders, the app drawer becomes useless. Then, even when you DO go in to it, what are we talking about, 6 extra apps? 10? Freezing/removing bloatware was at about the bottom of my list of reasons to root.

I hate to say it, but you've probably made it more difficult for yourself by accepting that update. Unrevoked is working on an update for hboot 2.02, but there is no word yet as to whether or not it will work with the new 2.10 hboot. This method used to root 2.02 supposedly works for the new hboot, but it's a pain, and you should really know what you're doing before you attempt it:

What I am concerned with is how those things will affect my battery life and other resources of the phone.
The following are the apps that I want gone from my phone - not to mention some stuff I don't even know what they do: Amazon MP3, App Sharing, Blockbuster, Car Panel, Flickr, FM Radio, Footprints, Friend Stream, HTC Weather, Internet (use a diff app), Kindle, Music (use a diff app), NASCAR, News, News and Weather, Nova, Peep, Qik, Settings Storage, Setup, Sprint Football, Sprint Navigation, Sprint TV, Sprint Zone, Talk, Teeter, Twitter, Voice Dialer, Voice Recorder, Voice Search
That's a lot...I am sure these things are running in the background that is wasting battery and resources. For ex, the Blockbuster thing comes up in my notification bar and I have no idea what it is or how to turn it off. It was included in my new update. Now only if I could even attempt to figure out how to root this thing!!

Unfortunately I need to get tit backup pro and freeze apps. I remember when stock rom would not update due to not having twitter... Its bs.

I can appreciate your contempt for useless bloatware, but a few of the apps on your hit list are critical for the functionality of your phone. Do your homework before you delete anything. I suggest that you purchase Titanium Back-up and Freeze before you remove.

If you aren't able to figure out how to change the settings on an app, let alone, figure out what they do, then I highly suggest you stay away from rooting.
