Root CM4DX Network Location Fix w/ CRT mod

Just so you know the latest nightly #7 fixed the Cell Standby Issue, CRT MOD, Dropdown Text, Coarse network location, Auto backlight, and Menu key unlocks lockscreen.

GPS has been fixed since nightly #3.

Outstanding issues that I'm aware of are video playback, camera and camcorder. You can fix the camera and some video playback (youtube, quadrant) with a zip file. No solution for camcorder yet.

The camera / video playback isn't merged directly into cm7 yet because the fix uses some motorola files which they can't legally use. CVPCS is working on getting a fix from source though.

So besides camcorder cm7 is nearly perfect atm.

The change log mentions nothing about cell standby.

You are right the camera thing is more of a workaround then a fix, which I believe so is the gps "fix".

It isn't just camcorder. Some of us have been getting hardware buttons which take two clicks to register, same with usb pluggins. This is way worse then any camera/camcorder issues as far as daily use is concerned. Some people may rarely use the camera, we all use the buttons.

Edit: I also believe the torch app still doesn't work, but that isn't a huge deal.

Camera fix is not the GPS fix. Stand-alone gps has been working since build #3.

I am still seeing the buttons not registering sometimes. Not a deal breaker for me, I just scroll a little bit and hit the button again.

Cell Standby isn't mentioned but is confirmed to be working in many threads here and on rootzwiki. Personally I went from 35% to 4% on cell standby.

Torch is broken, other apps work.

So updating:
Buttons sometimes don't register.
USB needs to be unplugged / replugged sometimes.
Torch broken (Solved by using another app)
Camcorder (Use another app - Videocam Illusion)
Camera / Video playback (Workaround zip available)
Power Notification Widget sometimes dissappears until reboot.

There is a workaround. Download Videocam Illusion from the market. It captures video just fine. ;)

Edit: Also the Market app now has the damned Verizon tab back. :( I'm on nightly 7 now so I can start testing the battery life.

My battery stats are reporting correctly on #7 build. I just flashed over the top and only wiped the Dalvik Cache and cleared Battery Stats. This build also cleans up the auto brightness. Only think it broke was MMS in the stock app (GoSMS works fine), but people have pulled the MMS.apk from the #5 build and it fixes it. Still have to apply the camera fix Zip to get that all working but the rest is fixed.
