Root [ROM]AOSP ShiftTh3ory

The ROM has one built in. It is in the notification power widget, and works better than the application ones, IMO.

i've tried that. on my previous rom cm7 power switcher was great. since i flashed this rom power widget is messed up. after installing the widget on home screen literally half the widget on the right hand side is messed up. the buttons squish to the left and half the right are blank, even if the power control is only controlling 1 function.

if it wasnt screwed up i would love to use power control because its usually great

I'm running 2.1 of this with the kernal that came with it which I believe is slayer and using the recommended radio 3.5. I am getting terrible lag when trying to unlock the phone (literally have to swipe my finger 3-4 times before it unlocks) and the battery life is absolutely horrible, down to 20% with minimal use withing 8-9hrs. I'm running ondemand with 368min and 1024 max. I never had these issues on bamf... Is there anything I should do to see if I can fix it? Thanks

I would try IMO's 3.5.8 kernel. You can use the one linked in the imo's 3.5.8 thread which will leave the speedtweak.sh setting intact or if you want to keep DT's tweaks to the ramdisk I posted in the BlackAOSP thread, it is a version of the kernel that has the anykernel mod but it won't have the speedtweak.sh script so you would need to overclock/undervolt manually. I would also change to the interactiveX governer.

The difference between interactiveX and on demand may explain the lockscreen lag.

Yeah IMO runs it on interactiveX so it sets that automatically.

If you flashed the version linked above then I suggest going to terminal and typing the folowing remove the quote mareks
"su" press enter,
"speedtweak.sh" press enter,
"2" enter, enter,
"8", enter, enter,
"14", enter, enter,
back softkey.

That will overclock you and undervolt, it should still be stable but make the phone more snappy.

in comparison to CM7 I seem to get noticeably better standby time, but when I'm on the internet/using the phone I get waaay less life than on CM7.

Are you using the same kernel on each or the stock kernel with each?

Also if you flashed a new kernel on Shift did you flash an anykernel version or the version put out by the dev?

Shift is an excellent Rom and ran smooth. But the 3g/4g widget didn't work. Ok I can work around that, but the battery simply isn't near as good as my old set up. I decided to flash back.

I'm back on cm7 and imoseyon 3.5.8. This set up is amazing. With good use I still get 20-24 hrs battery time. With Shift I was getting half that, literally. I cant stand a phone not getting better battery than that. Its my lifeline and i need it for work. With Shift if I used my gps or browser i'd get a few hours of battery. So Shift it was fun, but farewell.
