Sure sounds like politicking to me but am glad to hear that HTC is aware and maybe fixing the wallet issue. I would like to use it since it is a feature that was paid for.
Well, you pay for it, and it works. The only problem is factory resetting the phone without disabling the NFC security token.

In other words, for the vast majority of people, it's there and works.

Good point. I would probably forget to disable the security and well we know what happens then. That would be my luck..

That's exactly the issue - they can stop and warn you that you're about to delete your data, they can stop and warn you to reset Wallet.

Yes and they should warn you. I am surprised that HTC did not deal with this before release because that could be a lot of phones to replace especially if people are not on this or some other forum to hear about and know what or what not to do.

You have to have or had worked in Government to fully understand how it works.

Doesn't surprise me that they only allowed a small quantity through. Once they got held up, HTC stopped shipping. Pressure put on Customs to get a good amount through (pre orders), so HTC's name isn't dragged through the news everyday, money list, etc.

Open the flood gates! Pre order at BB if you can and haven't!

Anyone gonna test new wallet update that NOW supports the EVO?

Man, I feel bad for those that haven't been able to get their phone yet. Brings back memories from the original Evo release 2 years ago.

Anyhow, hate to make anybody feel worse, but I was sitting at a local Thai restaurant with my colleague and saw a guy outside of the restaurant playing with...you guessed it...the LTEvo!...hahahaha.

At first, I thought maybe it was a different phone, but as soon as he lifted it up and I saw the red stripe and the 2 tone color scheme...no doubt it was the LTEvo. So far, I'm loving the reviews and different comments on the phone. It's enough that I was itching to go to Best Buy and just try to force an upgrade, but I'm trying to remain patient until all the superphones are finally released and I can make a good decision based on whichever suits my needs the best.

Well, I've ordered micro USB cords, car charger, car mount, car bluetooth kit, 32GB microSDHC card and a OB Def case for the phone so far... but no phone lol

If I wasn't opening a new account, I'd look local... but with either the ERPR or my work discount I can add it instantly online (vs waiting 2-3 months so easily $100 or more extra).

I want to try tasker too. I was going to get some NFC tags to try but it seems like this app does what the tags do. I am not sure. I have a daily routine wifi in house sound on leave for work turn wifi off turn bt on get in car phone goes in dock. Get to work silence ringer or put it on vibrate turn off BT back on wifi for work. But after work alot of times I forget to turn my volume back up. On my way home wifi is off BT is back on till I get home and wifi comes on again at home volume gets silenced when I go to bed. I guess just driving to and form work I could leave wifi on since I turn it back on at work and when I get back home. But this app seems cool but looks to complicated for me.

If we got 10 free dollars in our google wallet can we use it to buy apps with? If so I would like to try this. But if you get it let me know how you like it.

oooo... I just learned of something called 'Tasker'... sounds awesome! Can't wait to get it going.. was looking for something on the GPS/Car docks for car mode and found a thread here about it...

I saw this, but I'm not sure when I would ever need it. I have a HTPC with a 7.1 surround sound system, so I can download and play anything I need already.

How does it work? Just allows the phone to output HDMI?

Yep. That micro USB port is really an MHL port. An inexpensive powered adapter gets you HDMI mirroring of your display.

Or, you can go the wireless HDMI route -

You might consider NFC -

Tasker is great but can be intimidating and I like the ease of using NFC.

So in order to use the tags do you have to enable the NFC on your phone like it says to enable when using google wallet and does it drain your battery more having it on? Also where do you get tags at? So it's easier to buy tags and do it? Cause this app did seem complicated but since I had 10 free dollars in my google wallet I was gonna maybe try it. I don't know!

Check the NFC thread for more info on NFC, but no, the chip doesn't use battery when not in use. And even if you used NFC tags 30 times a day the battery drain would still be minimal.

As for Tasker, you can purchase it through the dev's website and get it both cheaper and with a free trial so you can decide if it's for you or not. I use it way less now that I have the NFC tags but it's always good to have, especially since you can actually set up an NFC tag to activate Tasker actions.

I figured since I dont have the phone yet, I might as well ask questions so I am prepared when I get it:

1. I heard APP2SD doesnt work the same way? I can not move apps to my 32GB sd card to save internal space? they just get moved to another piece of internal memory when you do app 2 sd? ... That being said, do I need the apps that are on the SD card now, when I move the card to the LTEVO?

2. I am told in TITANIUM BACKUP you need to change the path to the your SD card to restore your backups. What is the path?

Sorry if this was mentioned before but I couldnt find it even with a search...

From what I have seen, that is correct, unless I am missing it. I used Astro FM and looked around and all my apps, even though say moved with A2SD, are on the phones internal storage and not my SD card.

Some things like apps data are on my SD card but I don't see any apps themselves.
