Root [MetroPCS/CDMA] Slow Data Speeds

Is it possible to get better data speeds with an older prl?
I am on MF2 with prl 2035 and Im having Network connection errors or connection timed out. I am no where near my 500mb limit either.

If so, how would I go back to say...2034 or 2032?

Thanks

You would use the program in the prl thread to manually update. I forget the name at the moment. QPST maybe? Older prls and modems may not be compatible with the updated and merged towers.

It is highly unlikely that PRL2035 is the problem. I work for MetroPCS and have discussed this issue with some of our network engineers. The slow data issue is a result of the MetroPCS/T-Mobile network modernization/optimization project. It affects the entire network as Metro legacy equipment is removed to make way for installation of T-Mobile equipment.
I conducted my own independent study of various PRL/ROM combinations with no significant difference in data speeds.
My data speeds dropped from 3~5M to just a few hundred Kb for about a month.
I'm now averaging 15M down and 8M up now that some of the updated sites in my area are now on air.
Be patient. Your data speeds should increase significantly soon.

no DO NOT REVERT BACK TO AN OLDER PRL!!! you have been warned if your in a location where T-Mo has finally covered older prl will not give u any 4g. a friend of mine from detroit suffered from 1x and 3g for 3 days and along with that he couldnt make any calls or anything just txts. i told him to dial *228 and update his prl and finally his phone was back to normal. my point? they are making all these previous prl obsolete! stick to the latest there was a reason why they released it.

Is that whats been happening in the Detroit, MI area. I have had this prob for a month now.

I also live in the Detroit Metro area and same thing is happening to me. I guess I just have to wait it out.

When is the Galaxy s4 for Metro coming to the Detroit market? Or should I just go and get it on T mobile like everyone else lol.

Well I went to Wal-Mart's on Ford Road and in parking lot I had all bars. Did a speed test dl 9mbps ul 4mbps.
So it must be the area that I live.

SGS4....on MPCS Website put a NewYork zipcode in on top of Home page and then order from MPCS.

Thanks Morgan! I am just going to wait for the Nexus 5. Supposedly going to have Snapdragon 800, 1080 p screen, 3 gigs of RAM and a 16 megapixel camera in tow. Should be out by late November.

Which carrier for Nexus 5?

It will be sold unlocked on Google play and I will use it on Tmobile or Metro. You can bring your own device to metro. Sounds like a beast of a phone though. I like the S4 but Nexus 5 with stock android 5.0 and those specs can't be beat.

Also... you don't have to wait forever for updates with Nexus devices ..they get them immediately since they come straight from Google.

5.0? Isn't it coming with Kit Kat?

No microSD still hurts a little too much. Otherwise I'd be with ya
