Root [20/12/2013] CM11 Android 4.4 KitKat [Beta 0.2]

After a week of playing around with the source, I have finally ported KitKat to HTC Merge :)

The rom is in BETA and is somewhat stable for daily use.

Screenshots

Working
-Boots
-ADB
-Mobile Data (Only test GSM)
-Touchscreen
-Audio (sort of..)
-SDcard
- Wi-Fi
- Camera (Camcorder is broken)
- Hardware Acceleration
- GPS
- SELinux included, but disabled by default.

Note: Future builds will be built as userdebug, instead of eng as it enables too many dangerous options.

Not Working/Untested
-Random lags (improved from alpha), but needs more work.
-Bluetooth (HAL/bt stack needs correct config probably)
-Camcorder
-Browser has black screen (EGL problem; todo: backport adreno drivers from CAF)
-Audio is buggy

Download
You MUST flash the following recovery in order to install CM11 because of new SELinux security requirements. Otherwise install will fail! Do note that the recovery does not appear to be backwards compatible, so you must flash an older recovery such as cwm5 in order to flash < jb
Recovery:
PD42IMG.zip - 4.40 MB (Put on root of sdcard, flash via hboot)

Rom:
cm-11-20131125-UNOFFICIAL-lexikon.zip - 170.34 MB
cm-11-20131221-UNOFFICIAL-lexikon.zip - 181.34 MB (latest)

First boot will be somewhat slow, because all the caches are being created.

Gapps: Google Apps - CyanogenMod (CM 11.0)

IM sorry jianC,I cant get it,my English sucks...is that mean I must rename the recovery file as PD42IMG.zip and then put it on my SDcard, then reboot to HBOOT?PLUS, several days ago we found a way to deal with the camera Flashlight problem but we still dont know if it works on CM11...We will dig into it.And thanks again jianC!!!YOU ARE A BRILLIANT ROMER!!!

I flash the recovery by downloading another recovery PD42IMG.zip, extract android-inf.txt, and zip android-inf.txt and recovery.img together to a new PD42IMG.zip (without compression, Compression level=store). 下载一个已经做好的recovery PD42IMG.zip，把android-inf.txt解压出来，然后把android-inf.txt和recovery.img“压缩”成新的 PD42IMG.zip，压缩方式/等级选仅存储。

On my S610d: Yes wifi and bluetooth don't work. I can't find the camera app, and thirdparty apps that use the camera don't work. android.process.media FCs on boot and when Gallery app starts. GPS Test Plus shows "3 in view, 3 in use" when I take my phone out (GPS working?). Mobile data works (GSM), but the browser shows a black screen. Torch works but a thirdparty flashlight FCs. I don't know how to test gralloc or SELinux. Personally I'd like to be away from SELinux as it simply makes linux difficult to use.

However CM11 seems to have better performance than CM9 and CM10. A good start, and thank you for your ROMs!

I'll upload it in PD42IMG format next time for easier use, and no problem :)

The android.process.media FC is because it can't find the UID of sdcard for some reason. If you pull sdcard out, media stops crashing, but I think I know how to fix that. In next build, wi-fi, camera, torch (for 3rd party app), gsm/cdma settings, will be fixed. I'm not sure about fixing bluetooth, but I'll look into it. The browser black screen is some EGL problem due to changes in framework, and the CyanogenMod team already have fixes for that. I'll keep SELinux disabled by default so users can enable it manually if they want. And you're welcome!

really Thanks alot~I got that~And I figured out a way to fix the camera flashlight.Just open your kernel file and find this
chmod 0777 /sys/camera_led_status/led_ril_status

replace the 0777 with 0640
Problem solved~

And I found that the SDcard can't be loaded in the ART mode. Can that be fixed?
Someone from the Chinese Merge forum said that the BT and audio Problem is easy to fix,is that right?
Have a good day jianC~：)

I just saw it restarting when I was about to say "My S610d does not have the restarting problem"... Then the dialog "android.process.Media has stopped" showed again, when it fully started and when I opened Camera and Gallery. A manual restart fixed the problem (temporarily?).

I will have to see if it is an easy fix. Also, ART mode is still very experimental so I won't be fixing anything for that.. sorry..

Hey,jianC,I flashed your CM11,and I found that it will restart now and then...it works pretty well and there is always 180M＋ RAM remaining~I must say that is amazing, but the restart problem is truly troublesome...but I'm here for ya~~

Hmm.. I know that the problem began in jellybean, the kernel probably needs some parts to be update.

There is some issue with sdcard that causes both Gallery and Camera to crash.. I will look into it and see if mainstream has any patch for it.

Btw, thanks for testing!

This rom seems to be working well once i realized that twrp was causing me issues with installing the rom and i switched to clockwork...though i do personally like twrp better still but if clockwork actually works, ill use it. So far its way faster on kk then jb but i'm still in the process of reinstalling and setting up. It tried limiting me to 128 mb of storage until i did a factory reset also (Glitch?) Haven't used it a ton yet but seems way better then the old jb builds so i thank you for the good work...i just wish i was paying closer attention and downloaded this sooner

I see that the Browser is a knowen issue-Trying a few browsers i found that The built in one and firefox do not work but chrome does-im not sure what causes it but im just passing on what i found so far.

Im assuming that there is still no fm compatablility-but ill take speed and compatability with new apps over that. doing some quick tests i didnt notice audio issues-headphone jack works also now :D

As for Speeding it up i dont know if you have tested any overclocking but mine using no-frills cpu control it seems stable runing at 1.408 ghz-for my usage battery life is about a day rather then a day and a half or so with stock settings. You mentioned that there is random lag but compared to the JB builds this thing is buttery smooth...everything just lagged, period under jb, now its usably fast again. (using the same overclock settings on both)

I dont use it as a phone so i couldnt tell you if that works or not-i just dissabled it from settings to help the battery life some

Edit: the torch works on its own but the camera app will not use it as a flash

I may have found a bug. When I try to turn on mobile hotspot it trys for a few seconds and then says error, then WiFi doesn't work till I reboot the device. I can screenshot if that helps. I don't have it on any mobial plan but that shouldn't affect it not letting me set up a network to transfer pictures to/from my tablet

Other then that things seem to work well
