I have TweetDeck, Seesmic and Twidroyd Pro. Tend to switch between them as they're all pretty good (considering I have come to Android from, most recently, Blackberry - where Twitter apps are poor).
Think if I had to choose just one, it'd be Twidroyd Pro.
I've had no problems with and ejoy using the official Twitter app. Have tried Tweetdeck but didn't like the UI. I'm trying Seesmic on Google Chrome at home and so far it's ok but wouldn't tempt me away from official Twitter.
Pronounce Touiteur with a French accent (yes, it came from France), and it sounds like "Twitter" with a French accent.
Twitter has new rules protecting the copyright of its name. So you can't use any name that sounds like Twitter in the name of the app. Touiteur was notified by Twitter and so they changed.
Twitter also has new rules that you cannot use the Twitter bird in your app logo. That's why Twicca changed its logo to the origami one (Twicca is Japanese).
Please also note that Twidroid was informed not to use "droid" in its name, as that is legally copyrighted by Lucasfilms. Hence, formally, its name is Twidroyd. With the Y. You won't find Twidroid in the market anymore, its Twidroyd.
