Help calendar deleted events showing up in 4.0.2

Has anybody come across the issue of deleted events showing up on the new stock calendar in Galaxy Nexus running 4.0.2? I know this is an old problem and I see it on my lenovo tablet running 3.0.

I just got my Galaxy Nexus and I have deleted some repeated events and they aren't showing on my Google calendar and weren't showing on my old Droid calendar (well, did have to delete those, but they stayed deleted). I've tried deleting them and they just won't delete!

I'm running 4.0.2 and that's also the calendar version.
