[CWM]ClockworkMod Recovery for the LG Optimus C

Okay OC owners, I have a working build of ClockworkMod Recovery. I have submitted it to Koush for official build and merged into ROM Manager.

An app called Flash Image GUI can be use to install or in terminal.

Link: recovery.img to install in terminal:

Code:
 su

 mount -o remount, rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock5 /system

 cat /sdcard/flash_image > /system/bin/flash_image

 chmod 755 /system/bin/flash_image

 flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

Thanks to sillputtyddd for the cmd syntax!!!

USE AT OWN RISK!! I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR PHONE!!

So, I returned my phone to stock, rooted, and flashed this with Flash Image GUI.

It boots into recovery fine, but there's this text at the bottom and:

CWM-based Recovery v4.0.1.4
E:Bad boot message
"recovery "

I can install the Cyanogen build fine (runs great on reboot), and I flashed the google apps zip - says it is installed as well but on reboot they aren't showing up on the phone.

Any ideas? Thanks for the work.

Yea I been informed of that error. After some searching it appears to not harm anything.

Not heard of that issue from anyone else, but will keep my hears/eyes open for it.

I will have a OC to work with this week some time so I will be able to test thing in a more efficient manner then.

The backups this recovery makes doesn't seem to restore data correctly. Any backup made before the update restores the data. So it's a backup problem not a restore problem I'd assume

Or maybe not. I switch back to the old pre usb fix recovery and the only thing it says is backed up is the boot.img

But if I check the file it's all there. Kind of weird

here is how(Thanks to a Post on cricketusers.com by sillyputty)

Post #18 gave me the stock recovery image just had to extract it.

Then I extrated it to HDD

Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot flash recovery "c:\stock-recovery.img"
sending 'recovery' (5120 KB)...
OKAY [ 1.320s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 1.185s]
finished. total time: 2.505s

C:\Program Files (x86)\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot reboot
rebooting...

finished. total time: 0.084s

After 2 reboots and a Scare when the android Packager error'd out
