Help Disable whatsapp badge

So I just got me galaxy s6 which is a great phone but there is something really annoying with how it displays whatsapp notifications.
Basicaly I have a group which I have muted and every time a message gets sent there I get this little bagde near it. Is there a way to disable badge notificatiobs for muted groups/contacts or disable them at all?

Looks like a problem or bug with the app. Might be best to contact the developers about it, see if they can suggest or do anything about it.

When muting the group did you also check the "Don't show notifications" box too? When I check that I don't get the badge either.

WhatsApp, it's their app that's giving the problem. And it's only them that can fix it, probably with an update.

Should find their email address in the Play Store. Tell them what phone you've got, Android version, and a full description of the problem. See if they can suggest anything.
