Do you like the Sense UI?

Yeah I'm running the rooted 2.1 ROM (Fresh 2.0b) on the Hero, it's based largely off the leaked Eris ROM. I can't imagine why the Eris' 2.1 hasn't been rooted.

Probably because the 2.1 leak's only been out for a couple of weeks, whereas 1.5's been out since November.

I don't really find myself using leap that much, but it is cool if I can train myself to use, very much like using the people app.

I love having my scenes. #1 thing about Sense. That and 'People' where what my friend showed me on his hero that got me all excited to buy an android.

I bought the phone because of sense. there is >0< downsides to running sense IMO.

I used to prefer stock android over sense, but the helicopter view IMHO has made sense infinitely more usable. The widgets (mail and twitter especially, and of course the beautiful weather clock ) are really useful as well, and I too haven't experienced lag (on 1.5 or 2.1). I could never be bothered to use all the home screens before because I never wanted to swipe 3 times to use them, but the helicopter view now means I can jump straight to any panel.

On the other hand, I do prefer the default stock android styling, but the benefits of sense outweigh the appearance for me.

I agree with what others have said. The choices in the poll are pretty biased. It is like having someone ask you, "When did you stop beating your wife?". There is no correct answer there.

Anyway, I chose Sense. It is one of the main things that attracted me to the phone.

I love the Sense UI. It's what made me choose the Eris over the Droid, along with the form factor.

Anyone who doesn't like the Sense UI should NOT have purchased an Eris in the first place.

After updating to the leak, I've dropped back to 3 screens. My battery lasts longer and I dont have the lag that I was having with Sense. Which is the reason I switched in the first place. I haven't ran into anything that I can't do without having sense. For me, it just works better and thats all that matters. I can see why some would like to use Sense. But I really dont need the seven screens. Its personal pref. thats all.

I like the Sense UI. Can't say that I love it, but I prefer it over the plane "Home". I definitely much prefer the HTC widgets.

I like Sense. I've had zero problems with Sense. Android's stock Home looks primitive to me.

Like Sense UI, but am going back and forth in deciding if I wanna keep this or go to the Droid. I could easily find a Sense theme and without that redundant phone button in the center for the Droid. The Eris does have its times where it shines and some where the lag is so bad its unusable. If the Droid is a lot better then im jumping, but if its only a bit better then its not worth the effort to me go looking, Since it would require me selling the Eris and my Storm to cover the price difference between the two and I am having a hard time letting go of my Storm. Maybe this phone will be way better with root? hope so.

I like sense because its a lot similar to Mobile Shell 3 that I had on my Omnia. Made for a very easy change over. Only thing i'm kinda wondering about is I get two mail notifications from the same gmail account, is that because I have a mail widget too?

Thats exactly why. one for gmail and one for the widget. you can shut off notifications to either.

I like a clean interface. I got rid of as much as I could on my Droid's home screen and I only have 4 buttons on the first screen that do the things that I usually pick up the phone to do. Everything else is too cluttered for me.
Most of the widgets are pretty gaudy so I don't really use them.

The Sense UI made me choose it over the Droid. It's subjective, but I find the GUI sophisticated yet functional (like the email widget, etc). The stock Android OS GUI is very basic and combined with the Droid's industrial design it seemed very generic to me. The N1 with 2.1 is probably a bit closer to what I like in an OS UI.

I never understood when ppl said "Stock" vanilla android is how android is supposed to be and not blur, sense or whatever samsung uses.

I've read that not only in here but droid forums as well.

Like mentioned before, why buy a phone that's main feature or perks is the sense capability.

It's like buying a house with a master bedroom with a big walk-in closet that you don't use all the space for.

I've seen ppl complain sense is "useless" because they don't use all the real estate that 7 screen offers.

Personally, I had no idea touch flo 3d and Sense UI were basically the same thing till recently but it really makes Android &win mobile look so much nicer.

It does slow the phone down a bit but i wonder does that have more so to do with processor than sense.

I like it...If the droid had it when i owned a droid, it might actually have made it a lot nicer looking...

Sense doesn't look that amazing in pictures, or on videos, or sound that great when you actually think about it. Once you pick up and use it, however, it really grows on you. That's when you realize how many extra features HTC put into it to enhance the already great android experience.
