ES File Explorer moving File.

Hi,
Sorry for incorrect topic... Anyways, I downloaded file & tried it to move to "/system/etc" but it didn't work. After so many tries using different explorers I managed to move file to "/" But now I can't move my file from "/" to "/system/etc"... Why this issue is happening. I tried Mounting "/" to R/W but nothing is working for me.

Any help will be Appreciated...

you can't move anything to and from system, unless your device is rooted. anything on system would be your android os.

My device is rooted. Actually I am trying to move Houdini.sfs File into /system/etc. Any file Explorer is not allowing me to do that...

ok i have not used es file manager in like forever. it is not even available in the play store any more. i think you have to change permissions somewhere in es settings. i could be wrong....like i said i have not used it in a long time.

I'm pretty sure ES is now dead. It was Chinese spyware, and not recommended anyway.

If it's definitely rooted, try something like Root Explorer... Good luck!

Well if your phone is rooted you have many other alternatives to use.

I tried Root Explorer, FX explorer both of them are not working..

What phone do you have? On some just being rooted isn't enough to get write access to /system when Android is running.

Its Android x86 installed on PC.

I tried using Terminal Emulator to move the file from downloads to /system/etc;
I typed;
mv /sdcard/download/houdini.sfs /system/etc

it said;
mv: /system/etc/houdini.sfs: Read-only file system

So, I tried mounting the /system

mount -o rw, remount -t ext4 /system

Output was;
'/dev/loop1' is read-only

Why I can't mount the /system?

(I have no experience in these commands, I googled them )

FX is very tricky to work with..I figured out once upon a time ..now the only way to make it work is through the back up I did to it..even moving files just to or from the sd(not system) would not move as requests read/write permits..and even though with those rights won't move..
