I'm currently a T-Mobile customer who uses a Jailbroken iPhone. I started out last year with a G1 but moved to the iPhone and sold the G1. I've grown tired of not being able to access 3G speed on the iPhone and want to move to a Android phone.
Currently I can get a discount on the Mytouch 3G (and CLIQ but I've heard bad things about them) that brings the price to about $150. I can't get any incentives on the Nexus one but I have seen them for sale on Craigslist for $400 - $500.
If I were to get a Mytouch 3G I'd most likely root the phone and install a custom version of Android on it (2.1 if it's available. Is it available?). I understand that this will speed up the phone a bit.
So, my question is this: Is the Nexus One worth the extra money if you can't buy it at a discount?
For people who have owned both the Nexus One and the MyTouch what are some things that each phone does better than the other? Any huge complaints about the Nexus One or the Mytouch that could be "dealbreakers?"
Thanks for all the help, I know that messages like this are often tedious.
