Help How to restore/reset the droid x

Hello does anybody know how to do a factory reset/restore on the motorola droid x. And this reset proscess will not delete the phone number right?

Shut down the Droid. Hold the Power button and the Home Key down at the same time and hold until the triangle with the "!" comes up. Press the search key and your options will appear. using the volume button on the side scroll down to factory reset. Press the camera button to select factory reset. You will then have to confirm your decision and then it will reset. I assume you are using Google for your contacts. If so they will repopulate after reset. You won't lose them. You may have to reactivate your phone. dial *228 then option 1

actually isn't there an easier way to do that. under the settings gui? Like under security i think or something like that. I just did it a few weeks ago that way.
