He's is running cm7, it has an app available for it called s2e (simple to extension) its cyanogen's solution to low memory. Its an alternative to hroark's /data2ext kernel tweak.

To use it you would have to switch roms

do you have a link to them and does it really let you run on partition or just says that it does and doesnt, thats what this one did.

Yes, it let's you run your data on a partition. Lol... and you don't even need to change any settings... its automagic

If THIS doesn't boot, then the problem is with your card for sure...

Edit-if you set it up this way, it moves all your data to your sdext. (Using hroarks /data2ext solution.)

If you want to use the s2e method, wet biker has a tut here somewhere. (Or maybe he will just pop in and explain it again )

No. There is no kernel that will automatically partition your card. You have to do it manually in cwm (or with the sdparted.apk, etc)

Hi all. Thanks for grabbing that question, LV.

Here's the tut for installing S2E. Some people have complained that S2E wasn't working. Well I just installed it on my wife's Prevail and its working just fine. I had partitioned the SD card then installed S2E and it wouldn't work. I then went and partioned the SD card again after installing S2E and it worked perfectly.

IMO S2E is the best way to go. The phone is much more responsive and the lag is all but elimintaed. Clock your phone up to at least 900mhz and you'll be cooking with gas!

Guys, I just wanted to pass along this little bit of info for those of you who consider buying your wife a Prevail in hopes of being able to tinker with it. DO NOT, I REPEAT...... DO NOT install one of these custom ROMs and then let her get her hands on it.

After installing CM7 with the KatoKernal, adding S2E and installing a pink theme on it, my wife has hereby informed me that I am not to TOUCH her Prevail!! She likes it just the way it is. LMAO!!

CONSIDER YOURSELF FOREWARNED!

Yep, Wy. I missed them too. I actually forgot all about them. Now the trick is gonna be getting the phone away from my wife so I can flash them. Hmmm, maybe I can grab it when she asleep!


UPDATE:

Snuck in, grabbed the phone while she was sleeping, flashed the Adreno drivers, put it back on her night stand and she didn't even stir one bit. HeeHee.... I feel so damn sneaky right now!

I wonder if she'll notice that I changed the wallpaper? ROFLMAO!!!!! I just couldn't help myself!!

The Wife and I both have prevails she wont let me play with hers its stockuke: (or stuck as i call it lol) FE16 BB which im using myself rooted of course I wonder if she would notice if I grabbed it:bath: and slapped on CM7 or CT3.75 with one of guspeeds themes LMAO

Hmmmm, she probably has things saved on the phone in some of the apps that would be lost. I would just let her know that you can greatly improve the performance/speed of her phone. I really like CM7 w/ S2E instead of data to ext. . It's faster IMO. You could also go with Blood's CTMod like you mentioned above. It too, has several themes and it's FAST!! I run CTMod on my Marquee and love it. You can't go wrong with either of them. Once she saw the difference, she would probably be mad for you not having done it sooner. lmao

Yeah man Ive been telling her that forever how much faster it would be se still has the tips widget up ROFL.. I just tried CM7 today on mine and im back on CTM3.7 Im just used to it and its fast like you said. She ot ahold of mine when she was out of service and I had a bad flash so things were laggy and really bad so she thinks hers will be that way I fact. reset wiped caches and recovered my last backup running like a well oiled machine OC @ 946 now and I have TWRP I love it instead of CWM still learning. Big ups to Hroark and Slayer72 on that one!!!!
