on my note 2 i had a samsung flip case [without a sview] so at night when my screen would light up from texts, emails that would come in all night.

without a case how do i turn off the screen from lighting up like an xmas tree all night? if I get an s view flip same question and finally will they make a flip with out s-view if i cannot turn the screen off?

or should i just place the phone glass side down at night or turn it off at night or leave it in another room or....?

    THANKS for the help!!!!

You can't turn this off. I've even went as far as to enter a chat with samsung specialist on their site. The only way to do this is to turn off your notifications altogether.

I'm using Hangouts as my daily sms driver anyways ,that won't light your screen up

these people who design this stuff are the "brightest" minds but not that smart lol.

how stupid and to make an s-view case is kinda dumb too. maybe a 3rd party flip will come out? my note 2 was better then this phone is so many ways but the camera sux on the N2 and is much better on n4.

Personally I turned on blocking mode (Settings > Blocking Mode) on mine so that the phone remains silent and dark during the night. I set up a custom list of exclusions so family, special friends and the boss can ring my phone any time of day or night. For anything else I'm blissfully unaware until the morning when I check my phone.
