Root Official restore with dl mode?

If download mode isn't working and adb won't recognize the device there's not really anything you can do to fix it. Sounds like whatever you flashed overwrote the wrong partition or seriously messed up the partitioning. If you check device manager on your computer it's probably showing up as QHSUSB_DLOAD device.

Pretty much means the emmc is really messed up and you'll have to send it back to LG to have it fixed.

I need some help I've had my LG volt bricked for a couple weeks now and can't seem to figure it out I flashed a rom that I didn't notice was for a different LG phone and now my phone only shows a black screen no dl mode no recovery just black and when I connect it to my computer a mass storage device pops up an only a file called image and a different one shows up I need help if there's any fix for this
Doubt it. You need to be able to interact with it to fix it, and you can't.

Well is there anyway to have a debrick img on a SD card and make the phone boot from that when plugged into my computer it says removable disk and it shows 2 files

Could you use the way they use on this http://unleashedprepaids.com/thread-9089.html

Change from "Upload" to "Board" mode on the LG Flashtool.

Step 3 - Flashing zv3
Open the LG Flash Tool. On the config window, make it look like the picture below
(note the DLL, S/W, and Action Mode) and hit OK:
upload_2015-1-4_11-55-48-png.79797

On the main window, hit the yellow arrow at the far left.
Once it finishes, unplug the cable from the computer, and plug it back in to start the flashing process.
When the phone reboots, it will boot into the MiniOS setup screen.
(You can now disconnect the phone and close the Flash Tool.
Don't worry about any fail messages from the flash tool.)
On the MiniOS screen, hold power and tap Normal Boot.
Rebooting will take several minutes, DON'T PANIC! :)
If you don't have service, just use ##72786# dialer code to reactivate.

I have received the error message you all are talking about when I had it on "UPGRADE DL" instead of using "BOARD DL", which is weird because all of my other LG phones have worked with the normal "UPGRADE DL" option. Even my current LG phone used to work with it, but after a few times it stopped working and would go to that "Factory reset status 2" screen of death unless I ran the LG flash tool again and used "Board DL" instead.

Item 1: The tot file!:1.17 gb! remember to backup efs parition and do a full nandroid asap! Note this is the boost file but it seems that simply activating the phone will download proper firmware to modify it to respective carriers.

You paid money for the LG flash tool and/or dll files? They are on this site already for free, under the rooting guide stickied at the top:

THE SOLUTION IS TO UNCHECK UPGRADE AND CHECK BOARD ON THE LG FLASH TOOL.

WHY HASN'T ANYONE SAID THIS?
BECAUSE THIS IS AN EXTREMELY OLD THREAD THAT NO ONE USES ANYMORE. YOU'LL NOTICE THAT THE LAST POST IS A YEAR OLD. THE CORRECT METHOD IS LISTED IN THE PINNED BRICK RECOVERY GUIDE. HOW DID YOU EVEN DIG THIS UP?!
